22-9. Hopefully this doesn’t prove too optimistic.

20 - 11 plus winning a game or 2 in AAC tourney.

NIT semi finals loss.

Think how much better that is than last year. Still fearful of the skill set, not the effort of the front court.

22 - 9 and we going dancing

21-10. Lose the AAC tourney final. Win two games in the big dance.

The Pizza Hut Swami Ring goes to August-Western "We will easily be a 10 win team."

I was searching for my prediction post but seems like it was deleted by the mods. No hard feelings they are some of the best in the United States of America.

I had 19 - 12. Injuries..... I guess should have been expected though for us.

Best Syracuse and everything else is gravy.

But actually;

Just based on past performance, I’m going to go more conservative than others and say 20-11.

Some sure wins, and only one sure loss (@Tulsa, obviously).

Win the AAC tournament, and we start re-Storrs-ing the brand

Next year just knock off a few wins from whatever my prediction is

Made sure to read and re read each and every comment. Year is over. I expected much more from this group. By that I mean an NIT bid, 3 over 500. So Dan Hurley gets a pass for year one(even though at 3 million, he should not). Better coach(presumed), weaker schedule, better line up...did not translate into a better team. Biggest impact to me is the AAC is a lot better (top to bottom) than previous years. Worst thing to happen in the tourney was being on fire with 3's in game one, which set them up for the Memphis Massacre. Pretty good recruiting class, so looking forward to next year.

That’s about where we were if Gilbert doesn’t get hurt last year with a much weaker team.
Against this year’s much weaker Schedule..
That’s totally unacceptable barring injuries to Gilbert or JA.or both
20 wins is baseline acceptable given the team experience and weak schedule.
Obviously injuries played a part but even bigger than that was the unexpected strength of the AAC . We we talking a 1 or 2 bid league now it could be 4 or 5 .
Bad losses that the season turned on
AZ at home that should have been a W
That was my only unexpected loss in OCL
Losses in conference that I exspected as wins 4 of the 7 possible winnable games
@USF
@Memphis
@ Tulsa
@ Temple
Cinn
UCF
Houston
That’s 20 regular season wins
That was extremely doable with a team that returned 10 guys including Adams with Gilbert Healthy.
This season was pretty disappointing. The mountain got steeper after The AZ loss and USF game we gave away. After that 20 wins became a dream.
We ended up with zero quality AAC wins that’s was the biggest disappointment.
I like Hurley and i’m overly sympathetic to coaches (I wasn’t screaming for KO’s head ) but if our former coach had this record with this team I would have been carrying an axe.
Hurley gets a pass because he was playing as much for next year as this but Im sure he is disappointed.
Keys to failure this season.
1. Moving JA to the 2 were he was totally lost most of the year and not getting definite buyin from him.
2, Yakwe injury the kid was a good backup rim protector for the few minutes he was healthy that’s a defensive game changer.
3. Gilbert’s injury
4, Adams injury
5, My biggest disappointment was how poorly we played defense for most of the year. I expected more from the D. Gilbert never returned to the form he showed against MSU in 2017. Adams was tnever totally engaged.i exspected it to be difficult to run offense against intense guard pressure.
I actually knew we were in trouble when UMass Lowell scored 70+on us.
