He doesn't have the length as Karaban which makes a big difference and I watched the game and they weren't the same playing weight in the semifinals. Karban listed weight was 230 to 215 for Kamenia. Kamenia has better lateral quickness but Karaban length helps him out against bigger players which Kamenia doesn't have. Karaban average around 1 block per game in his 4 season. Kamenia only averaged .1 block per game. Also, Karaban was a Sr. while Kamenia will only be a So.
Even if we take your statement at face value, you're comparing senior Alex Karaban to freshman Nik Khamenia. Freshman Alex Karaban was listed at 210 pounds, he started on a national championship team. Sophomore Alex Karaban was listed at 220 pounds, he also started on a national championship team. Karaban's wingspan was measured at 6'11" and Khamenia at 6'10". They both have very good length

My new PF/C combo wish list even though he's probably too talented to want to land a backup spot: FAU's Devin Williams.

6'10 205 incoming redshirt junior who averaged 7.5p, 5.2r, 1.3a, 2.6b and hit 30.6% of his 3PAs (14-49). EvanMiya's numbers crunched him as FAU's second most efficient defender.

Williams started at the 5 at FAU, but played some lineups as a 4. You might remember him from his freshman season at UCLA.

A realistic target is SMU's Sam Walters. The 6'9 230 incoming senior has played sparingly at Alabama, Michigan and SMU (never averaged more than 13 mpg at any season), but has a career 38 3P%. He's a bad defender, though (what if Tyler Polley came

If we want to go a more physical route and get another "NEC guy happy for a role on a championship-caliber team" then I'd pick Saint Francis transfer Gestin Liberis. I've seen him live a few times and the 6'9 215 incoming senior is a classic bruiser, finished last year as SFU's #2 defender.
BTW @Hey Adrien! -Sayon Keita commits to UNC

I am assuming that our next portal guy is a power forward. One player I would really like is Allen Graves from Santa Clara. Does anyone have thoughts on this matter?
You are assuming wrong in my opinion. A back up experienced point guards like Smith is what I think is what the staff is going after in my opinion. Last two years both our point guards were injured. A freshman point guard like County will not cut it in pressure situations. Staff knows this.

I’m in for 20 bucks
Serious question about this: I may be able to convince my employer to make a small amount of money available to a cause like this...but honestly, have no idea how this works or what NIL rules are, collectives, etc. Is there any direction or guidance available for a situation like this?

Alex looks broader, thicker. We are going to be bigger and stronger at the 2 and 3. All is good. Hines is going to be a beast. Really picking this one apart, trust the staff.

I can’t remember there being such strong and differing opinions over the 10th man before

Staff also said he’s our primary backup PG and then we got Nils who’s a CG as insurance, we have an awesome backcourt.

You make a fair comment but there are so many competent PF still out there that could be great depth pieces in case of injury… think about how our season may have gone if Riebe didn’t step up when Reed was injured in non conference? We likely would have been a much lower seed in tournament then you never know , I think right now we have 3 players 6’8 or taller god forbid Hines get injured for any sustained period…. If you can get another decent big guy I say go for it even if he is 10th man

Let the staff cook. I'm pretty confident that after the 2025 year, Hurley is never going into a season without depth. He's going to be filling in the blanks now.

I love that you spelled Khamenia correctly. He's already signed, so he's not just a flash that could disappear. Let's appreciate what we have, and aspire for success in obtaining the remaining the pieces.

Reach out to the athletic department, they have staff to guide donors and businesses.

but... are they a threat from 3? I would like to see a 4/5 who can be a threat from 3.
Right now, based on what’s there, Hines and Oskar are definitely playing the 5 in our system. But we need another Big and things would probably have to adjust depending on who we get.

Yeah, but how many penalty minutes did he rack up?

You know there are guys that are 6'8" or taller with good muscle that don't play a traditional 4? Milan Momcilovic as one. If we could have some as long and big as Karaban I would be fine but Kamenia is more of 3 trying to play the 4 as not as long as big Karaban.

Does anybody want to call Anthony Mason or Charles Oakley off the couch?

I opened up this post thinking we were recruiting a guy who's first name was Portal
Portal Wish sets great screens and can rebound with anyone. Needs to work on his shot
