Looks like the refs are going to be pretty tough on the low post jockeying today

According to Kyle Muncy:

"NBA scouts in the house today from Cleveland, Milwaukee and Minnesota. #UConnBasketball will be a popular location for scouts in 2011-12."

I stand corrected still there, he's having a great first half though. He's carried over his 2nd half play from AIC into the 1st half of this game.

Allen could turn out to be a very nice player. Good defense, passing, ball handling, and shooting on display. I have more faith in him with the ball in his hands already than I did D Bev his senior year.

I know it is only CW Post but Uconn's offense looks very good. Allen has game and will be able to fill in for Boatright when he is out. Impressive half.

Bazz, Lamb and DD shooting really well.
Our bigs can not stay on their feet and all have 2 fouls.
Allen getting some solid minutes.
Our D is nasty again-playing a cupcake but still looks so hard to score. They still are leaving shooters open at times with wide open shots.
TO looks much better- really works hard- not making mistakes- nice touch on his jumper.

A bit premature to say after one and a half exhibition games, no? We'll really see what he's made of when we get to Big East play.

1st half observations- Our outside shootting was lights out. on his Deandre is incredibly smooth and will be hard to keep off the court, he has as nice a stroke on his outside shot as you will see, he is a star in the making. Olander improved a bunch since last year, he has a much stronger body is much more confident and he has great mechanics and touch for a big guy. Shabazz looks very good running the team, Jeremy is pretty much automatic when he gets an open look. Lastly Brendan Allen doesn't look out of place out there, he made one very bad pass but other than that he looked like a very capable player. One negative was that we made some careless passes on the break and gave up to many offensive rebounds but that sometimes will happen when the opponent misses so many shots.

D bev almost turned the ball over every time he touched it. I wasn't claiming allen is going to be great. I was more responding to the people hoping he can be a D Bev type player. My thoughts are that based on his ball handling ability and defensive ability (my opinion is taking into account comments by coaches about him from practice) his potential for contribution will be better than D Bev.
