I'm curious to see how expectations might have shifted in the last few weeks. Vote on your expectations, not what you hope might happen.

I'd be even more curious to know how Geno would vote - I can see him agreeing with all 4 choices.

Personally, I'd be shocked if they beat Notre Dame, then dumbfounded if they beat Baylor (assuming they win their semi-final game). But it's great to see them in the Final Four, and really, anything can happen when you get there.

I expect they will win the championship but I will not be disappointed if they do not. This Team is exactly where I said at the beginning of the season 2-4 losses and in the FF. I really do think they CAN pull this off, however.

#3. This team is talented but very young.. Credit to Geno the coaches and players for getting this far. Playing with house money now.

I said three losses and an NC; didn't anticipate the SJ loss and I'm still at a loss to explain it. I was away and didn't see the game.
But if they get the NC I can overlook that.

It will be interesting to see which team takes its play to a higher level in the FF. All four teams seemed to have really turned the notch up a bit in the tourney and seem to be playing their best ball of the year.

I aint about to lie. I figured that we would make it to the FF and then on to the Championship game. This team always amazes me. Hopefully we can stay aggressive and take the whole thing. Good luck, ladies.

I am happy to have made the Final Four, though I (optimistically) predicted that in October. If we bring our A game and don't run into problems from the refs, I like our chances. I have faith in our kids and coaches.

I think both semis AND the final game are tossups. Shoulld be verrrry interresting.

Its been an interesting year for me on the boneyard and I've relished the experience. But my picks have been pretty much on the money even if they disturbed some readers:
just want to make something clear. My enthusiasm for UCONN in Sunday's matchup with the Irish is not payback or sucking up. UCONN will win!
Why?
They are playing with more fight than anyone in the country, wonderful gritty determination.
* Crisp starts to games (not a typical UCONN trait)
* The ability to turn adversity into an advantage. When Kelly sat with 2 fouls, I was profusely worried that the offense would grind to a halt; didn't happen.
* The renewal of Steph...grand to see.
* The knowledge that even though our offensive post depth is lacking at this moment in time, Kiah is rebounding and defending like someone possessed and Heather is capable of the same.
* The likelihood of Bria, KLM or both outplaying their opponents, even taking over the game.
* The renaissance of Ms. K Farris whose ability to single-handedly assert her will has suddenly emerged.
* And that senior, capable of mass destruction (at least half of it to herself).
* And finally the team defense, performing at a new level of excellence and comprehension.

Poor Notre Dame: their year last chance in years, next year we'll beat them 3.4 or even 5 times if required.
All the pressure is on them and their 5th year seniors who I so admired but speculate that they're ready to crack and have a sub-par game and we roll!

They've got a good recruiting class coming in, though, and Skyler will be a senior.

I like Skylar too but pressure can rattle her and cause her to get down on herself; i'm counting on it.
The problem of last year's final four is that you've got to keep it up, if you let her off the hook she can explode and get all her confidence back (even, no, especially in the 2nd half in crunch time)

We now have 6 girls who can score double didgets. That mean not lofing off on Kelly. Tiff has become a terrific rebounder. Im not going to talk about Baylor or Stanford because they havent played yet and I think that will be a very very tight game. I really like our chances againest ND. We on improving game by game the ND isnt. Yes we had more room for improvment and we have. No fear of Stef in foul trouble, now we have Kiah. No fear of doubleing down because Kelly is scoring double didgets.....and our defense is the best in WCBB and getting better. Unless we get in foul trouble with phantom calls UConn +8 over ND.

I thought it was 50/50 that they would make the FF. What's cool about this team is that they give you hope. I don't expect them to win the National championship, but they definitely give you the feeling that it might just well happen. It's fun to know that they're the underdog, but also to get the feeling that, if the cards turn up right, the magic might happen. I would love for them to pull it off: no All-Americans, just brilliant team play; against all odds. They should make a movie about that. Honestly, for me, it's all gravy, but these girls deserve extraordinary. I want it for them.

It's not THAT good and they lose much more than the gain. UConn will beat them by 20+ and Diggins will feel like it's her freshman year all over again.

If we get by ND, we'll beat Baylor. Baylor beat ND and UConn but at home and they haven't beaten an elite team on the road (Tennessee was their best road win). Assuming we keep it close they will crack under the pressure of going undefeated for the season. The ND game we'll win if they correctly call offensive fouls on Novosel and company but if not, we're in trouble.

I think we can beat Notre Dame again if the refs call a "fair" semi final game. If they don't I doubt we will win. That was the difference between the first 2 losses and the last win. In those first two we couldn't hardly breathe on a ND player without getting a foul called. If we can get by ND then I like our chances against Baylor. Honestly, I think the National Championship game will be played between U CONN and Notre Dame on Sunday and who eveer wins will beat Baylor. Sorry Kim

I thought we could/would get to the FF, but that would be it. So anything else for me is gravy/frosting (I like frosting better). But I think we have a pretty decent shot at ND. And Geno has never lost a NC game. Sooooo.....who knows? We can do this, whether we do or not...???

Really, the only two "major" players in this game who have yet to play on this stage are McBride for ND and KML for Uconn. I think the game will largely be impacted by which of these two shows up on Sunday.
