Poet's Corner: Haiku Review

Sure, in that boring, derivative Naturalist way. I can handle his novels just fine, but his poetry is tripe.
Never read his poetry. Used to enjoy novels we were forced to read in high school, but dig non fiction, really.

And after deleting a bad attempt at a Jack London haiku, I'll stick to non fiction.

This thread/concept has so much promise. Some of the best stuff on the BY for a while. Here's to hoping it doesn't fizzle out.

Aside from natural talent, this is the most important element for a good poet.

Constructive criticism not being readily available, I would think that the poet's most useful tool would be the desire and practice of continually honing his/her craft, and the willingness to learn from various sources whenever possible.

Being a capacious reader is obviously important. But, like so many other skills, there's an element of "you have it or you don't."
