Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Amina Muhammad is a very unique player. Not many 6'4 players have her athleticism, motor, speed and length. Muhammad began the season as the Texas starter at PF due to Gaston getting injured in the scrimmage, and Aaliyah Moore still not cleared to play after her ACL rehab. When all 3 players were fully healthy toward conference play, it was Aaliyah Moore who was the regular starter at PF. If all 3 returned for next season, both Gaston and Muhammad would be backups at PF and/or Center. Plus, 2024 PF Justice Carlton joins the roster this summer, and she is better offensively than both, but not necessarily defensively.

If Cameron Williams is willing to join in a backup role, she's a take, IMO. Not many grad-transfer players want to be backups when they were previously starters.
I read in one or two places (could be same source) that Tionna Herron, a close friend and former teammate of Muhammad at DeSoto High School, preceded Muhammed into the portal. Both players directed interested schools to contact the same person regarding their availability. Package deal? Or another instance of an advisor/influencer "helping" on the home front?

According to Raoul's blog entries, Muhammed was pursued by Coach Taylor when she was at Georgia and Texas A&M when Blair was finishing up. So, interest in Aggie land?

That will help with the loss a Barker

I could see LSU pursing Muhammed as well. We need a post, and we have one of her former HS teammates (Smith) as well. :P

6+ days and counting ...

Wowza...didn't expect this. B1G All-Frosh team and got zounds of playing time. Pretty late in the process to announce.
Once again, recruitniks might remember her as Mary Alice Groot when she primarily played at The Dalton School, although she spent a year in the Carolina's when New York City shut down the scholastic basketball season. Thought she got better as the season progressed. Solid two-way, old school forward.

Mary Ashley is Gamecock family. The Law School library is named for hergrandmother,She played with Ashlynn Watkins in HS

Amina Muhammad just followed Harrison and Quinerly on IG. WV would be a great fit for her

Yall trying to scoop her up too?
Her brother was a manager on the Duke basketball team and another one went to Johns Hopkins, so there are Groots/Stevensons all over the East Coast.

For one year, only. And that was because of the NYC scholastic league was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Spent three years at The Dalton School in Manhattan.

Last I checked, Chloe Kitts isn't going anywhere ;)

Watch her fake everyone out and go to Columbia.

Haven't seen anything on either player.

On IG, Nat Marshall followed 3 Vanderbillt players: Sacha Washington, Jada Brown, and Jordyn Oliver
Nat's going to graduate from ND this May and would have one year of eligibility. Wonder what kind of grad programs she'd be interested in at Vandy?

In any case, if she was to take a tour, it could be handled by Koko Nelson, who handles that for Coach Ralph. Koko was pretty much the lone sub on that 2018 ND National Championship team. She could easily research by calling up her (and Nat's) post coach, Carole Owens. Good player, even better person. Wish her nothing but the best.

She was in high school in SC for one year only, mom and Dad are Gamecock grads and/or law school grads. Grandma was first woman state Supreme Court justice. Lots More ties, no, I don’t expect her to transfer to Scar. . She’s not enamored of bench time

.-.
She needs to talk to Kennedy Brown, Taya Corosdale, and Aleah Goodman.
Maybe not Corosdale. I don't think Duke turned out all that great for her. Her one year in Durham was statistically the worst season of her career, by far.
