You gotta like Unique Thompson but where are the great nicknames?

My favorites were Boom Boom Geoffrion, Golden Wheels Dubenion and Oil Can Boyd.

I doubt more than 4-5 of these kids stick long term. Definitely the weakest class in quite a while.

I know numerous prediction sites have projected Collier as the #1 pick, but I think Kuier has more upside. She's taller, younger, and I think will be a better pro. Of course just IMHO - i've only seen videos of Kuier - not seen an entire game on TV like we've been able to see of Collier.

I wonder what other fans think - maybe people who have seen more of her? If she's really better than Collier, I wonder if WNBA teams will shy away given you never know if foreign players will actually show up to play for the season, and in years where there are Olympics, often times the foreign players opt out for the entire year...

Is it usual or unusual for a player to declare for the W while still in the Big Dance?
(I am guessing that this would normally only apply for RS players and/or Juniors that qualify because of their age.)
This is in reference to Aari McDonald.

I think "declaring for the draft" is a misnomer. In a normal year, if you are a Sr. you don't have to declare for the daft, you've used up your eligibility. This year those Sr. have the option of returning for another season. Many of them are opting to move on, undoubtedly some for non-basketball reasons.

What McDonald actually did was announce that she was not going to return to Arizona for another season, but would move on to the WNBA. She was eligible for the draft last year and chose to remain, a mix of Covid (in general), the cancellation of the NCAA tourney, etc. After Senior Day this year she kissed the court and was asked outright. It would have been a 6th year, so I'm not sure why anyone would have thought she would return, although I sure understand "hoping" it.

I also think she is getting married in the next couple of months, I forget who the boyfriend is but maybe a football player??? Sorry, I don't follow this stuff.

Wonder if Moon Ursin comes back? There was some speculation to that.

I think she plans to do some type of post graduate work so she was the most likely, plus she wasn't going to the WNBA.
I heard she was rumored to be coming back. I hope she does, she's one of the most fun players to watch in college basketball with her leaping ability and how she battles with players a foot taller than her for rebounds.

How about Machine Gun Maggie. I loved watching her play for Penn State.

Just from looking at this list it doesn't appear to be a really strong class. What does everyone else think?

Worst class since 2017, might end up being worse than that one.
