In my head? PC has won the last 4 games played in Hartford. Now they’re playing for the 2nd year in a row at Gampel and I’m saying we won’t see Hartford for a very long time. Hardly some far out there thought. Hurley said it.Pitino quoted in a tweet that he wants the UConn game moved on campus because too many UConn fans attend MSG.
Lil bro PC fan, wanting to be like his big Bro UConn, manufactures in his own mind "us to, us too". Very cute
Not the same. I mean, it’s Pee Cee. They don’t have a realistic chance of achieving anything meaningful. May as well hang banners for victories in Hartford. In my head? Actually that's the start of PC's spring break so students won't be around. It’s March 9th this year. Last game on the schedule. Students will be around. Teams have no say in when league games are scheduled anyway.
For interested UConn fans single game tickets behind the basket are available. I’ll stick with the StubHub/ACE etc. The first few rows of the upper level on the sidelines are actually great seats.
Isn't this what started this entire thread? Or am I just confused?Pitino quoted in a tweet that he wants the UConn game moved on campus because too many UConn fans attend MSG.
Yes, but PC fan sidetracked the thread topic from Pitino/MSG .Isn't this what started this entire thread? Or am I just confused?
Pitino: we are going to play UConn at Carnesseca.
UConn fans: they are scared of us at MSG
Hurley: we are going to play PC at Gampel
PC fans: they are scared of us in Hartford
UConn fans: it’s not the same
I wouldn’t say vastly and I agree I doubt it’s because of the amount of fans we bring to Hartford, as compared to what UConn does at MSG although that is a home game for us as well. It’s just that even 1,000 PC fans can get loud when the team is playing well and having won the last 4 at Hartford they play well there.I get your point. But you gotta be honest an admit the proportions aren't the same. It makes a huge difference
It's not the same to have 1-2k** (vastly overestimating this to give you the benefit of the doubt) providence fans in a sold-out XL center vs having 60%+ of the Garden be filled with UConn fans.
PC fans may be get away with running a few chants and get loud every once in a while at XL. But it isn't the same as feeling you are outright playing a road game at home.
Ultimately, both decisions to play in the smaller arena may be due to keep fans from the opposing team out which technically makes you right. But it is far less of a problem for UConn. In fact, I would say UConn should continue to play that game at XL Center. 1-2K opposing fans in a 15k building is nothing to be worried about
What is even the logic here? This is embarrassing.Pitino: we are going to play UConn at Carnesseca.
UConn fans: they are scared of us at MSG
Hurley: we are going to play PC at Gampel
PC fans: they are scared of us in Hartford
UConn fans: it’s not the same
Did Dan Hurley say we are playing PC at Gample? When? Where?Pitino: we are going to play UConn at Carnesseca.

Good question. I would like to see this as well.Did Dan Hurley say we are playing PC at Gample? When? Where?

If Dan Hurley had his way home games would all be played at Gampel. Until the last Hartford game the place normally is morgue-like.Let’s see when UConn plays PC in Hartford again. Same stuff.
New to UConn basketball I see.If Dan Hurley had his way home games would all be played at Gampel. Until the last Hartford game the place normally is morgue-like.
Willie, you are angry. I’m sorry. 3rd response you’ve made, all very angry. That’s too bad.
What?Actually that's the start of PC's spring break so students won't be around.

-> Competitively, it makes a ton of sense – UConn fans have historically marched to the Garden in droves and made their presence heard, even more so recently. Financially – trading the 19,500-seat arena in Manhattan for 5,602 seats in Queens – not so much.
St. John’s is set to contest eight regular season games at Madison Square Garden this season – six in Big East play. The Red Storm have two Big East home games (against Xavier and Butler) at Carnesecca Arena this year and two (DePaul and Seton Hall) at UBS Arena.
“We didn’t sell out against Xavier (at Carnesecca). We didn’t have anybody come to Barclays (Center for Boston College on Dec. 10),” Pitino said. “We don’t have an abundance of fans. We’re not UConn or Villanova with fans, and there’s a reason. We lost the brand. Louie [Carnesecca] has been gone a long time. So we got to build the brand back and the people will come back.” <-
-> The programs haven’t met at Carnesecca Arena since 1990.<-
That is his job. Playing in MSG is almost an away game for him.Well can't blame a coach for extracting any advantage he can find.

Just what we need, another guy who doesn't go to games.New to UConn basketball I see.
He’s complaining about fan support as well.
