Makes sense. But it also stirred up the UConn fanbase.
In what years did PC win those last four games in Hartford?I wouldn’t say vastly and I agree I doubt it’s because of the amount of fans we bring to Hartford, as compared to what UConn does at MSG although that is a home game for us as well. It’s just that even 1,000 PC fans can get loud when the team is playing well and having won the last 4 at Hartford they play well there.
What's your favored unit of measurement for the "amount of fans," you're considering? A shit ton?I wouldn’t say vastly and I agree I doubt it’s because of the amount of fans we bring to Hartford,
PC is 10-6 all time in Hartford and 2-14 at Gampel. Over the last 20 years the teams are 10-10 against each other. PC has won every game at Hartford played in the last 34 years. January of 1988 is the last time PC lost in Hartford I believe. In what years did PC win those last four games in Hartford?
Not a ton. If it was a ton of me then that would only be 9 fans. What's your favored unit of measurement for the "amount of fans," you're considering? A ton?
You hang a few banners for those wins, maybe hand out a ring or two for beating UConn?PC is 10-6 all time in Hartford and 2-14 at Gampel. Providence travels to Hartford about as well as Temple fans did. What's your favored unit of measurement for the "amount of fans," you're considering? A ton?
Is the 2d part true? I always assumed that was mandated by state as way for them to get some revenue on a 3d rate building they can’t otherwise finance. How much more do we net playing at HCC?Very different stuff. Pitino is trying to schedule UConn out of MSG because UConn fans outnumber St Johns fans in NYC in those "home" games
UConn splits between XL and Gampel because of financials, yes. But no venue will ever be decided because the other team's fans will travel and outnumber UConn's in either building
This is news to me.... That Providence travels well to Hartford. I honestly had no idea and I'm a bit skeptical. I've seen opposing fans in Hartford before, but never what I would consider a lot. At most a section of the arena. Not 1/3 or 1/2 the arena.Let’s see when UConn plays PC in Hartford again. Same stuff.
Interesting. I had no idea what our record was against PC. Clearly it's important to you.PC is 10-6 all time in Hartford and 2-14 at Gampel. Over the last 20 years the teams are 10-10 against each other. PC has won every game at Hartford played in the last 34 years. January of 1988 is the last time PC lost in Hartford I believe.
Not a heck of a lot. We lose money by going to Hartford unless it is a sellout. If it is a sellout, we don't make more money than if we sold out Gampel. Keep in mind that in addition to paying 40+ thousand dollars to lease the facility, they're also is a three dollar a seat surcharge, plus we don't make anything on concessions or parking in Hartford. Benedict has said that playing in CDRA managed facilities cost the university of Connecticut about 7 million a year both in actual fees and lost revenue. How much more do we net playing at HCC?
In my head? PC has won the last 4 games played in Hartford. Now they’re playing for the 2nd year in a row at Gampel and I’m saying we won’t see Hartford for a very long time. Hardly some far out there thought. Hurley said it.
Pitino: we are going to play UConn at Carnesseca.
UConn fans: they are scared of us at MSG
Hurley: we are going to play PC at Gampel
PC fans: they are scared of us in Hartford
UConn fans: it’s not the same
Clearly I used the Google machine just like the person who asked me the question about dates could have.Interesting. I had no idea what our record was against PC. Clearly it's important to you.
No, not made up. It was something he said a few years ago. I have looked for the video but have not been able to find it. @August_West remembers. Apparently he’s a fan of Hartford. Was this something you made up? When and where did Hurley say this?
UConn gets totally screwed by refs every time they Providence in Hartford or at Providence. The crowd in Hartford is overwhelmingly pro UConn. PC fans have nothing to do with the success of Providence at Hartford in my opinion. For some reason the Big East refs just love Providence and always have. This is why Providence always struggles outside of conference and in the tournament. It is also why UConn does so well outside of conference and in the tournament. Once UConn escapes the biased Big East officiating it’s like a weight removed and they dominate. For some reason when they play at Gampel, this bias against them is far less.PC is 10-6 all time in Hartford and 2-14 at Gampel. Over the last 20 years the teams are 10-10 against each other. Probably because it doesn't exist. Delusional....It was something he said a few years ago. I have looked for the video but have not been able to find it.
Never pictured you as being that big. In all candor I would leave guessed ~155 as an undergrad back in the day and maybe 175 now.Not a ton. If it was a ton of me then that would only be 9 fans.
145 as an undergrad, at 6’2”. A beanpole.Never pictured you as being that big. In all candor I would leave guessed ~155 as an undergrad back in the day and maybe 175 now.

You have complete control over your own stress level. If you don’t, then seek a mental health professional to walk you through the steps to control it before you have a heart attack. You’re welcome. The amount you post on here stresses me out. I'm about as big a basketball fan as you can find and I've probably visited the PC board once. You have little brother syndrome. I'm all for the drama usually, but my PCP says I gotta worry about cardiac incidents with my family history of heart disease.

And yet here you are droning on about it on a Connecticut board.Clearly I used the Google machine just like the person who asked me the question about dates could have.
It offended you, clearly. Good. My point remains it will be a while before Hurley plays PC in Hartford and a while before he sees SJU in the garden during the conference season. And yet here you are droning on about it on a Connecticut board.
Just saying.
PC has 1 win in Hartford in the last 15 years and it was when our 1st team All Big East center was out. It's a neat stat, but also it's nonsense.PC is 10-6 all time in Hartford and 2-14 at Gampel. Over the last 20 years the teams are 10-10 against each other. PC has won every game at Hartford played in the last 34 years. January of 1988 is the last time PC lost in Hartford I believe.
We’ve only played there once in that time frame and we weren’t in the same conference for quite a few years. Don’t forget to mention the refs. Talk about nonsense.PC has 1 win in Hartford in the last 15 years and it was when our 1st team All Big East center was out. It's a neat stat, but also it's nonsense.
Nope, it amuses me. It's pretty funny when posters come here to tell us how great their programs are, particularly those that, well, really don't do anything in the postseason whatsoever. It offended you, clearly. Good. My point remains it will be a while before Hurley plays PC in Hartford and a while before he sees SJU in the garden during the conference season.
