PG Tremont Waters (UConn Offer)

I'm not familiar with Bass' recruitment, but how can you consider him a loss? He was born and raised in Louisiana. He eventually settled on LSU. Many on this board and the football board want CT's best talent to "stay home" and that's exactly what he did at LSU. If he went anywhere else I would consider it a loss for LSU, but surely not a loss for Uconn.

I would agree but for a different reason - Some relative started driving around a Benz or BMW right after he signed - pure coincidence -I am sure.

From yesterday at Big Strick in NYC. Came in the top 3 in the 3pt shooting contest along with Enoch and 2015 5 star Antonio Blakeney.

Really like the Tyus Jones-Shabazz comparison. Need to lock this kid up now. He really likes UConn. Been a fan since he was young. Gotta lock him up early.

He and Wilson went back and forth in iso situations for about 5 straight possessions. In my opinion, he got the better of Wilson. 2 years Wilson's junior and giving up about 6 inches he really only got beat when Wilson bullied him. Impressive handle.

And he came very close to winning the 3pt. He had 19 in 1st round, a number no one matched in the entire competition. Then in the finals he tied Blakeney with 14, eventually losing in the tiebreak.

hopefully he grows 3-4 inches. i grew 5 inches from 10th grade to my freshman year in college. He is really talented, you could tell when he went head to head with devonte graham. borges is always talking him up for some reason

South Kent Prep (CT)

On the surface, Waters is a thinly-built diminutive point guard who looks physically outmatched.

But when the ball was tipped on Friday and Saturday, Waters quickly made it known that he was an absolutely elite player.

The rising sophomore is a first-class floor general, a mix of Tyus Jones and Shabazz Napier. Waters has Jones’ poise and handle, and Napier’s shot-making ability. He controls the pace of the game, sets up teammates with pin-point passes, and can create his own shot when the defense falls apart. Waters also showed the ability to guard, staying low in his stance and pressing up on bigger players. Waters did a very good job defending Damon Wilson, a 6-5 Pittsburgh commit.

Waters is virtually unknown to the media right now, but college coaches have taken notice, as he already has 13 high-major scholarship offers.

Besides his diminutive size and understandably weak frame, Waters didn’t display many weaknesses at the Big Strick Classic. I think he will end up as a top-3 point guard in the class.

Been preaching that for about a year now.

It's years out and I already know I will very upset if he commits anywhere else. KEEP HIM HOME!

It won't stay that way for long. Size/strength is his only real weakness, and if he grows; oh my.

Found this on youtube. First episode in an apparent series on Tremont Waters. About 10 minutes long, not a bad watch with nothing else going on this time of year. I absolutely love this kid, one of my favorite prospects in a long time. There's also a couple bonus clips if you look for them.

Love it. I have been aboard the Tremont Waters bandwagon for some time now. He is one of the most polished high school players in the country regardless of class. Insanely great handle and a menace on D. There's nothing not to love about this kid.

Said it before and will say it again I will be very upset if he doesn't end up in a Husky uni. I may cry.

The thing very apparent about this kid - is that he loves the game and he has fun playing it. He's pretty talented too.

Love the way he just plays. No showboating, no in the face stuff, seems unfazed by how good he is and how good he can be. A credit to his family there and the people training him to be great…….he has a bright future and hopefully that continues for a few more years within the CT state boundaries!

The highlight video focused on his scoring and showed very little in the way of passing skills...I assume he is good at that as well as he seems to have an amazingly good feel for the game for his age. Great form on his jumper with high release point, which is good with his shorter stature. He looks like he will be really good.

One thing this clip didn't really show, besides his passing ability, is his great defense. He really gets after it defensively. He is a terrific pickpocket, and he can really stay in front of his man. Other than being short (and he is still very young with time to grow), he really seems very strong in every aspect of his game.

If you look closely the only time he loses his man is when he gets physically picked off with is pretty normal stuff for a smallish freshman. But other than that I agree 33, he moves his feet well and slides really well for a young kid, way ahead of the scale fundamentally on defense!

Also his work ethic and court demeanor are second to none. I cant find a single thing not to love about him. He's 14 in this clip...

I agree, and I much rather see a great assist pass than a solo hoop. Although, I have seen him play a few times and he can definitely pass very well.

Kid reminds me of a young shabazz

Next episode is out:

The fact that the video features him running stairs at my old HS field gets me all pumped up to keep him in-state and get this kid to UConn

And the kid has a 4.0 gpa.

He met Shabazz a little while back and Shabazz basically told him keep the grades up and everything else will work itself out. Good advice and Tremont really took it to heart. I hope Shabazz also said "commit to UConn ASAP".
