Recruiting 'roundtable' at the half...

Question was which teams needed to have a big recruiting class - I don't know who it was, but the guy who said Kentucky should probably be escorted off set and shot.

Finklestein, I think, made the argument that some of us made last year - UConn needed to recruit better after not getting Jones/Briscoe/Stone/Mack. He commented that they 'salvaged the class' by 'killing it' in the transfer market. Then they went on to talk about Gilbert, etc.

They also spoke about a Mormon mission, so I assume they were talking about Bailey, but I was still trying to get my mind around Goodman's sock/sneaker combo and missed most of it.
The Mormon mission talk was in regards to Frank Jackson

The announcers' hype on Giles and what he's doing on the floor are not compatible.

Seriously. I've been in and out, but haven't seen him do anything special. A couple of uncontested dunks, and that's about it.

Agreed. He's very good but one would think he'd be dominant the way they're talking about him. If team CP3 holds on to their lead, he's going to have one hell of a test against the size of the Georgia Stars' frontcourt later today.

I think these guys are contractually obligated to mention "ESPN60" every minute.

Goodman seems like a straight up weirdo. There's a reason he doesn't have many friends in the media

I have liked Tatum's versatility on the St. Louis side...also one of the espn60 guards on Tatum's team has been super impressive

I have never said this about a kid listed at 5'2" before, but no way is Darnell Rogers that tall.

That kid is looking up at a five-footer. He's about a foot short of being two inches too short.

Trevor Willis looks pretty good - I'm guessing he's earned a few offers this weekend.
His hair adds 14"

Alonzo Verge made a three from way downtown...not one of Gilbert's best games but he has a great ability to drive into the lane

Giles getting tons of praise for making an up-court pass to a teammate who was wide open.

Give the kid credit where it's due - rebound in traffic, started the break and an half-court pass to a teammate out ahead.

Nice bit of business for a 6'10" kid.

This kids all look tired now - think they need a break from basketball.

And the winning team plays again at 3:00 today. Don't think we should be rushing to make any assessments on these guys today.

Gilbert has thrown a couple of nice, in-rhythm entry passes. Underrated skill.

Tie game with 20 seconds left, CP3 with the ball. Maybe setting up some heroics for Alterique?

Tatum looks terrific.

Everyone else - players, refs, coaches, fans - look like they want to be somewhere else.

The CP3 coaching staff appears to lack a certain feel for the game. Not saying that calling a time out after a huge lead dwindles to two is a bad thing, but I'm thinking a timeout might have been in order about 37 times prior to that - just something to work on in the future.

Giles just hit the ugliest hook in history to take a two-point lead.

lol....the CP3 coaching staff has no one pressuring the ball and they lose on a prayer three. Four seconds left and they lay out a red carpet to the front court.

What a horrific basketball game.

Chris Paul is as good a crunch-time coach as he is a player.
