That's not really horrible in the land of D-1 coaching.
An institution simply has to do what Western Kentucky did; essentially put into the contract a 1.2 million dollar payback if you break the terms of the contract, payable in monthly installments over a six month period. UConn could make a similar contract. Hell, we could probably pay the 1.2 million dollar buy-back if we really felt strongly enough. Pretty simple, really. Right now, Petrino's contract is a little over 800k if I'm not mistaken, and PP's is over 1.6 million, so the math there is pretty easy...
Edsall left low class. No argument from me. But, to compare the moral and ethical fiber of Randy Edsall and Petrino is laughable to me. I know I am coming across as being on a high horse on this, but when you roll the dice on someone with the character issues this man appears to have, you take huge institutional risks. My bet is that Herbst would squash it before it ever got going. I know I would.......
