I'm telling you ... the more I read this Providence stuff, the more I feel they are drifting right into the Siena territory. Think about it: good decent Private school. Occasionally good hoop team. OK City to hang out in.

UConn is so much more these days. If Sean had a brain, he would see the advancement of one New England school way beyond all the others. We never claimed to be on the path of BC ... staring down the Charles at BU, MIT & Harvard. Just a really solid research University with a big wealthy state finally putting real investment in the place. In 20 years, that gets you far.

actually, if u look at that list with any bball iq or present knowledge of new england teams right now, u will see that besides my joking of providence/bishop and random d3 schools, the list is almost dead on. maybe u should go read a rpi ranking or something rankings wise and check out the d2 polls or w/e before u do the tough guy act again. or just have another fish stick u coward.

BTW, your 1990 theory about UConn fans "discovering" hoops is bunk. FYI, in the late 70's, prior to the BE founding, UConn defeated PC for the New England championship, and the right to go to the NCAA tourney. Soup Campbell played on PC's team.
FYI, "Soup" is in a serious battle with cancer, according to the NH Register.
Two years later, UConn defeated URI & Sly Williams for the NE Title. Sly spurned PC 4 years prior. After that loss, Sly stated he wished he went to UConn.
All of that was around 35 years ago. Not since 1990, like you say.

I know a little about PC back in the day. I know that Ernie D and Marvin Barnes could have added their SAT scores together and it wouldn't have been enough to get into UConn.

IF true, that is sad for Soup. Yonick, all you say here is true-you are a longtime fan like me. Yes indeed, Sly admitted he made a mistake picking URI - he said something like " If I was picking a school now it would be UConn!" NOT URI or PC! LMAO. That was essentially the end of PC's ruling NE basketball.
