Still, that is a 9% success rate going off of historical numbers, only one actually suited up. And secondly, I don't think you can accurately compile numbers before Cal got to UK. Its certainly changed everything, he virtually has a monopoly on the big man market. Including 2015, Calipari is 7 for 18 with the top 10 centers. 39% success rate. Almost no point in competing with UK for these guys.

"I love and respect what Coach Self has done, and is doing, with the program," said Chukwu via text about Kansas. "It's [Kansas] definitely among my list of schools," he added.

Chukwu is still trying to figure what what schools he will consider, but he's hoping to have a better idea of where and when he will visit some schools in the very near future.

"I'm gonna figure that out today," said Chukwu. " I'd love to visit Kansas, but I'll know after today," he added.

If he didn't like the diversity at Providence, I can't imagine he'll like what he finds when he visits Kansas.

thats true but kansas is also like 5 times the size of PC. Honestly sounds like he had enough with pc/their staff and wants to try it again elsewhere, doubt uconn is a player here as others have noted. he only played 20+ minutes twice in 2015, was he foul prone or just buried by cooley?

I just find it crazy that Cooley was quoted saying the staff had no clue the kid was unhappy until he met with him recently.
Are they really that disconnected from their players?? Then again, could that be part of the issue?

Lawrence is a pretty awesome college town, and KU has gone to great lengths to make diversity a priority on that campus over the past two decades.

Looking at the number of transfers they've had, it seems like the disconnect is real

Thanks for the info Matrim. Never been before, so I was just going off of perception.

Lawrence is a great college down. Diversity wise, KU is a big state school, not a small private catholic school and there is diversity there. KC is about an hour probably less away so you have a major metro close.

Crazy to think about, but he can transform from "underwhelming project" to "the next Joel Embiid" overnight if he commits to KU.
You are right, that is crazy. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. For one, it won't be overnight. Per transfer rules, it will take 2 years minimum.

I've been following this and sorry if I missed it but does anybody know if we've even reached out to him?

Anyone know if we could be restricted from getting Chukwu? People on the Providence board are saying that they should restrict him from coming here. They are super salty but are they even allowed to place such a restriction on him?

If it were up to them, no recruit whatsoever (HS, JUCO, transfer) would be allowed to attend UCONN.

They can restrict him from any school they want. Usually schools only restrict to protect themselves for future schedules or if the school feels tampering was involved. With no basis for either it would really be a bad look if they restricted him from UConn and would kill them in recruiting even more. That said Has anyone heard a word about UConn reaching out?

Cooley and PC could restrict him from any schools they wish, as far as I know, but doing so would go against the supposedly awesome guy reputation Cooley enjoys.

I forgot about that kid. Did,he do anything in the league this past year?

He tweeted a lot. He was out all season hurt and technically next season will be his official "rookie" year, kind of like Blake Griffin in 2010-2011.

As a student of biology, its amazing how closely Boneyard threads resemble a cancerous lesion metaphorically. The thread (cell) starts off normal and on topic, then a single inflammatory post will result in the thread going off the rails (cell transformation) and becomes uncontrollable. Now I realize this post itself is only adding to the irrelevant thread cancer.

NERD ALERT

Hearing from someone I consider a good source at Providence. Chukwu kept his feelings from their staff and teammates. Teammates as stunned as Cooley. Kid has a huge ego. Wants to be at a program where everything will revolve around him. Fancies himself to be the next Wilt Chamberlain.

This could well be true.

Kid has a huge ego. Wants to be at a program where everything will revolve around him. Fancies himself to be the next Wilt Chamberlain.
Don't take this the wrong way but considering the assessment, there is no way in hell your source knows anything about this kid (aside from his height).

I have never met Paschal, but I highly doubt he will get with 20,000 women.
