Pan Am Title Game

Yes they have. On a team there is something called team defense, which means switching and helping. Thus everyone is responsible. Posts are meant to help when someone penetrates.

And the guards are meant to stay in front of them in the first place.

What offense is this team is trying run? All I see is players standing around. On defense they look slow, lost with very little effort. Stewie and Moriah must be thanking their lucky stars they are going back to their UConn team mates after this game.

They're using the tried and true "Spray 'n Pray" offense. :D

It looks like a team of 5 randomly chosen players against a cohesive team. Canada is playing much smarter and with more intensity. The US has no idea how to score in the half court. As UConn Cat has already said, no movement, no screens, bad rebounding and forced shots because there is no discernible offensive system. It's like watching Tennessee play on offense.

It's a team that has played together for a few days trying to play a team that has been together for many months.

It hasn't been Reimer and Mavunga guarding Nurse.

NOR HAVE THEY GUARDED ANYBODY ELSE. They are simply unable to compete. No hands, no hustle, no screening, no defense, no nothing by those two...

Let's see if these "stars" have any pride and can finish the game playing their hearts out.

As disappointed as I am with Team USA's play, I have to accept that they are playing Canada's National Women's Team. That does lessen the pain....just a bit.

Thanks for making me laugh, I need it at this point.

I very much disagree but we'll leave it there.

What is interesting to me is that Kia Nurse appears to be Canada's number one offensive option and last year she was the fifth offensive option on the UConn team. Canada taking great satisfaction in winning this game would be like our USMNT in soccer taking satisfaction in beating a college team from Germany.

One thing making it easier for Canada on defense is the mediocre American passing. It's easier to swarm when everybody is dribbling out there instead of passing.

Also, it seems like Canada kept Nurse out just a bit too long for their own comfort, there.

At least the Lady Vols know how to Rebound the ball and make aggressive effort rebounding. Some on Team USA make little or no effort. Don't want to mix it up.

Does Harper ever pass the ball? Typical player who is more interested in her stats than actually winning the game. Looks alot likean AAU tournament game. No wonder Kentucky can't win the big games.

Hey, Geno, whatever the weird hairdo is that produces 3 stripes on the left side of Kia's head ... I vote we give her her own hairdresser this year.

At least she's getting into the lane.

Isn't one way to defend Kia Nurse to draw a charge? Walker Kimbrough made no effort on that drive.

That Nurse is killing us ... who is she! Half laughing, half crying.

I just gotta shake my head with a wry smile on my face when I see Kia stop the US momentum again and again.

In five games Courtney Williams has gone from starting to not getting in the game thus far. Don't know if she is hurt, but I'm guessing not.

The bench is weak, and Bluder knows it.

Congrats Canada.. Your senior national team beat our U22 team by 8. See you in the Olympics.. we'll have the big girls ready for you.

MoJett doesnt look well at all after that collision with Nurse, #concussion?

Kia Nurse has become a scoring machine! Exactly which UConn player will the opposing defenses play off of this coming season?
