In poker probability dictates everyone should win the same number of games, that is for seven players each player should win one in seven hands. The play is betting and folding. Maximize winnings, minimize losses. Recognize a high probability hand and build a pot. Recognize low probability and get out early.
In basketball theoretically each team gets the same number of possessions, same number of shots, same pct made, same number of rebounds equals tie game.
To win, create more turnovers and therefore more shots; more offensive rebounds and therefore more shots; shoot a higher pct from the field - more shots in the paint, transition points, no forced shots, take the best shot. Play better defense than your opponent: get in the passing lanes; contest every shot; get all the defensive rebounds; disrupt side to side play; minimize fouls.
Cinzano is deadly underneath, Marshall is a deadly three point shooter. Martin is a jack of all trades. Put one defender on Clark and shut down the others. Overall talent wins out. Liv, AE and Aubrey are more talented underneath. I would rather see Aubrey start over AE. A dominating defense is not as important in this game, as much as Aubrey's presence on the perimeter and underneath and her speed knack for getting to the ball.
more rebounds + less turnovers = more fg attempted. more transition points, more paint points, best shot = better fg pct.
better defense, more oppostion turnovers, forcing poor shots - fewer fg attempted and lower fg pct.
