Can someone help me find the highest 3pt% seasons for a player in UConn history?

Would you say that Moore is more explosive? Or more relentless?
I think that Moore was the most determined/relentless of our superstars. That quality made her a particular asset for rosters that were talented but needed to apply themselves more, including the star studded but underperforming Lynx when she first arrived. Taurasi’s asset was instilling confidence in others, particularly useful for inexperienced squads who otherwise would not perform as well. Stewart’s asset was sort of an ease-to-the-game about her that calmed her teammates, like our previously uptight roster that couldn’t beat Notre Dame. Bueckers may have a little bit of each of these intangible assets.

I would also credit Moore with appearing to be the most graceful, but I’m not sure in actuality that makes her the most agile. I actually think Stewart is the most athletic, but she does not appear as graceful as Moore.

Maya had less pressure because she didn't run the team, and she had more experienced players on her team freshman year. Paige is doing it all with 7 freshman, 2 sophomores, and 3 juniors. When Maya was a freshman there were 2 freshman, 4 sophomores, 4 juniors, and 4 seniors. Quite a difference in the two rosters.
Regardless who was on the team, Maya performed at an extremely high level for a freshman. Pheesa and KLS also came into college on a very talented team but did not perform at near the level Maya did. Maya's biggest asset, aside from her physical talent, was that she was not afraid of the moment and knew she was the best player on the team the minute she walked onto the court.

Just a reminder of another PG who had phenomenal stats for months of a season - Jefferson in both her sophomore and junior years was absolutely lights out for January/Feb after having slow starts both years - can't remember the exact numbers but she was shooting somewhere between .650 - 750 on threes for 6 or 8 weeks each year.

As for Uconn records: Best 3% for a season: Sue Bird .497, second best Jefferson at .496.
Those numbers are just a reminder about the law of average - Page is on a great streak, but she will likely hit a lull at some point and become human again.

NCAA record for a year 3% is 57.5% in 1990 at Fordham 50-87, for a career Alicia Ratay of ND 2000-2003 at 47.6%. NB There are only 2 players to have a yearly % above 55%.

Paige is phenomenal, she is a much better shooter than I realized when being recruited. She does move around relentlessly a la Richard Hamilton, and she is really quick at taking a pass, squaring up and getting her shot off. She seems to have great body mechanics and never seems off balance when jumping/shooting. I'm amazed last few games how open she is at times, which I attribute to her constant motion. And, over the years when one team plays another team that has a superstar, the defensive philosophy is sometimes to let the star have their points but keep everyone else from having good games- maybe they are gambling that they can live with Paige getting 20 or 30 or 40 points if no one else has a decent night. I don't know, just speculating how she gets so open.

I'm really looking forward to South Carolina game- I haven't seen South Carolina this year, this will be a tough game!

Megan shot .451 from the arc last year, so she just missed top 10.

Check out the 2015 team: Mo at .496 and Kaleena at .482. The 1989 team wasn't too shabby either: Bascom at .476 and Lamb at .473.

There are only 2 players listed on there twice: Sue Bird and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis. How many times will Paige shoot .457 or better? How about Azzi?

In the presser tonight, Geno said that Paige has been making shots since September, so this is nothing new. He also said she's shooting "only 60%." Then he made reference to Kaleena shooting "82% in February." (I think that was an exaggeration.)

Page is unbelievable! She scores so well. Do you think she‘s more valuable as a scorer or distributor? Pg or 2g? I’m starting to think that her scoring prowess is more valuable than her distribution, both of which is on a WNBA first team level. We are so damn lucky to have her.

Only to think that we could have a repeat of this next year with her friend Azzi coming in.

And she was the best player on the team! The only thing I’m trying to say is that Maya could score over, under or through you. Tremendous athleticism on the drive, finished by a sweet finger roll! High altitude release on jump shot! She could muscle you down low, rebounded with the big boys.
Guaranteed Paige accounts for a higher percentage of the offense than Maya did her freshman year. No knock against Maya. She is an all-time great.

Cannot say Paige is Maya certainly.

But Paige can score in more different ways. Maya's way though proved to championship elite.

You can say Paige is Maya and then some. As a freshman has the ball in her hands much more often, is a better passer and shooter at this point and without a Tina Charles or Renee Montgomery she's carrying this team as a freshman in quite an impressive manner. Her consistency is startling at this point with her only bad shooting game in their loss, points out her importance. Right now you'd be hard to find any freshman who has had an impact of this proportion thus far. I mean long way to go and prove will be in the long run. But wow, she's really special.

Yes she is special. Amazing just like Maya. I've been on here hyped on Paige form the get go and even after the close game vs Tenn still spouting how impressive I thought that win was. I've been much more "pro" for this team than some on here is my point.

But with that said-- Maya played two big time OOC teams vs Stanford and LSU in her frosh year and smoked them. Paige has played two top 20 OOC teams - one she couldn't hit,- and the other she didn't turn on the motor until the 4th quarter. Maya had the motor on in the 2nd or 3rd game into the season vs Stanford. I agree what Paige is doing right now is super impressive and more compared to Maya - but this top 5 opponent imo is great barometer. If Paige struggles vs South Carolina and UCONN doesn't win-- I don't think it can be said she is or better than Maya.

With that said- if she has even just a "very good" or maybe "just good" and UCONN wins (or is super loss) yeah she is "and then some."
