Who we rooting for tonight, big matches up across Hockey East this weekend. We're sitting in the 6th spot right now when you factor in games played. I'd rather see BC, BU & Maine pull ahead ahead of us since we're not going to be able to catch them anyway. Therefore we'd be duking it out with UML, PC, Mass & Merrimack for the 4-7 spots going into the final 5 games of the season.
Good question. BC and Maine will finish 1-2 in whatever order, they won't be caught. More important than finishing 3rd vs 4th is finishing 4th vs 5th so you can host that second round game.

So yeah, if BC, Maine, and BU are playing someone right behind us, absolutely root for them.

In other words, Saturday, I will be a BU fan as they host Providence.

Thank god the rest of the league is almost caught up with us in games. The way I see it, find a way to split the Maine/BU games at home, then win 2 out 3 vs Northeastern (2x) and Vermont and we should be in good shape standings wise. Find a way to go 3-1-1 in these 5? Outstanding finish and if stars align perfectly, maybe we somehow grab the 3 seed (but only if BU falls to Prov and we beat BU). But we will have to play better 60 minutes of hockey than we have lately and a goalie will have to step up and steal a game(s)

November's Merrimack debacle comes back to haunt us as they slip past us on a tie breaker. We have a game in hand, but no margin of error!

Obviously first and second will be BC & Maine in some order while BU appears to be cemented in third.

Fourth through eighth appears almost indistinguishable (if UMass capitalizes on their game in hand).

I still believe our Hocket East goals for this season should be finishing top four in conference and reaching the semifinals (final four) in the conference tournament.

Maine/Umass tonight at 7 on NESN should be a good one. With 2 wins vs UMass this weekend and a BC loss to Merrimack, Maine would win the regular season championship.

UMass up 2-0. 7:47 left in the first. I don’t know who I want to play. Both UMass and PC have had their way with us this year.
