Other Hockey games (HE and non HE)

Big one for Maine tonight vs Denver. It’s on ESPNU.

Maine and Denver tied at 0-0 after one. Heard Samu’s name a couple of times. Number 11 on your scorecard, always a Husky in your heart.

Denver scores on a two man advantage. They still have 1:45 left on the second penalty. 1-0 Pioneers.

Maine scores on the PP with 1:23 left in the second. Maine has 22 PP goals this year to now lead the country. Denver is one behind. This has really been a great game. Maine has owned the last 6 minutes.

#6 and #7 are very evenly matched as the score and the stats show. Should be a great third period. We are up at Alfond on the 17th and 18th of January. Going to have to bring our A+ game with us to come home with some points. The crowd is great up there.

Still 1-1. Less then 4 minutes remaining.

Denver scores the probable game winner with 20.7 seconds left. Both teams were amazing. And Maine almost scores with less than 4 seconds left. Wow. Maine will have a faceoff deep with 3.2 left, but Denver wins the faceoff and hangs on. What a great game.

I don’t feel bad for them. Remember when Cornell beat us 6-0 at MSG.
Cornell is playing 2 vs SHU @ Martiere next weekend (Fri/Sat). Lots of wealthy Big Red Alums in Ffld County, they'll come out in numbers since their ticket opportunities at Yale and QU aren't as simple

Hockey East vs ECAC: 27-6-2 (.800)

Hockey East vs Non-Conference: 68-26-3 (.719)

probably the best nonconf HEA has had in a long time. Get your non-conf job done and the national picture is so much easier...

but I've always been more national focused than provincially. Winning HEA is nice but I want to win the whole thing

-> Time for a change?

With so many intriguing Hockey East matchups, Providence coach Nate Leaman would like to see the games staggered, allowing for fans to watch more action.

“We’re playing all of our games at 7 o’clock on Friday night. For a fan that wants to watch our league, why aren’t we playing on Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, even a Sunday?” said Leaman. “It’s too good right now, and we’re the only league in the country that can do it because we’re close geographically. It’s exciting how good our league is this year, but we have to take advantage of it, because it’s too good of a product.

“If you’re a fan, wouldn’t you like to watch a game to kick off the weekend [Thursday], whether it was Maine-UConn or PC-BC, or anyone? All of our fans across the whole league, if there’s one game on a weeknight, they’re all going to tune in and watch it.” <-

Leaman makes a great point. Bulk of your games at the current time but pull out a couple of headliners for the fans to watch each week.
Or even start some games at 7 and some at 730 on a friday. When im watching on the plus and our road game ends, ill look for another HE game and almost all are ending within a few minutes of each other. Id like to see a full third period of action for another HE matchup.

Yeah thats a good point, I would've loved to watch the PC/BC series last weekend but it fell directly in the UConn Maine window. Tomorrow we'll be able to catch BC/BU after UConn plays at 4
