"Other" games of note, Week 2 (Nov. 12-18)

MD cutting into the lead. Down by 9 with 3' left.

Uh. Mercer? Mercer's shocking loss to Kennesaw State is interesting especially since it wasn't close. 94-64. Interesting that Agnus Berenato is putting together a good squad there.

Cincinnati and Ohio State going down to the wire too.

Tulsa leading Oklahoma State 39-31 at the half. Is there something in the air today?

Maryland has stormed back to take a 2-point lead with 1 minute to play.

Cincinnati and Ohio State headed to OT.

Fresh off her approved waiver, Braxtin Miller is leading OSU in scoring with 16 points Head bang

Tied up. You may yet :D

Never mind. MD wins 70-68
Yup, I went to NCAA.COM and saw that JMU tied it at 68, then it showed the Final. :( :( :(
SWERVE: I bet that the JMU Football team could trounce the Turtles.

Cincinnati hung tough with Ohio State but couldn't get over the hump. Lost 78-73 in OT.

The highest-quality competitive game of the night is Drake-South Dakota, now showing on ESPN+. The Coyotes just cut it to 3 in 3Q.

Freshmen Haley Frank having a career night for Missouri with 15 points

Blackwell struggling with free throws

Upset alert in Dallas. SMU is leading Rice by 6 points with 1:02 to play. Live stream here: vs Rice

Drake is clinging to a 2-point lead over South Dakota with 21 seconds left. USD just fouled to put Drake on the line.

It's a good game to watch in Vermillion tonight. Drake sinks both FT's, and leads 81-77. Huge 3 from Madison McKeever to get the Yotes within distance.

Overtime in Vermillion! Coyotes and Bulldogs to go the distance!

I would love if this became an annual rivalry.

Rice just had a clunker that makes UConn's offense tonight look smoothly oiled.

E. Ogwumike and N. Mulkey combined for 32 points on 11 of 29 shooting.
The rest of Rice's players combined for 11 points on 3 of 29 shooting.

Swin's cousin Johnasia Cash had a nightmare shooting game, 1 of 17, but she did have 14 rebounds.

Drake kept their composure almost the entire game but buckled in the final seconds of regulation. Hittner missed a critical free throw and then the killer was Monahan's turnover on the inbounds play with 2 seconds to play, which gave South Dakota the possession that allowed them to take it to overtime.

Kierra Collier (the Washington transfer) was great for Drake with 24 points, but had some critical turnovers as well. Rhine was her usual reliable self with 21 points on 10-14 shooting. Hittner's had a nightmare game.

Hittner has not been great for them this year. Would have expected much better from her. I’ll be interested to see how Grace Berg fits in once she’s eligible.

Looking ahead to Sunday?

Looking at the box score, the rebounding totals are brutal too, and the Owls committed 23 turnovers. The only other starter to score had 5 pts 5 turnovers.

These teams just dont want to be ranked in the Boneyard Poll

Tuesday, Nov. 12
Clemson at Alabama (7p ET, ACCNX). If this were a football game, it might be the game of the year. But it's women's basketball, so ...
South Dakota State at Creighton (8p, video). The Jacks need this one after a tough loss to Drake.

Wednesday, Nov. 13
Ohio State at Cincinnati (7p, video)
UCF at FGCU (7p, ESPN+). UCF tries to regroup after getting blown out at Belmont.
Drake at South Dakota (8p, ESPN+). Drake is #23 in the BY25; South Dakota is receiving votes.

Thursday, Nov. 14
Central Michigan at #9 Louisville (6p, ACCN)
#16 Michigan State at #15 Notre Dame (8p, ACCN). The Spartans were abysmal on the road last year; can they improve?
Missouri State at Oklahoma (WNIT semifinal) (8p, no broadcast info)
#18 DePaul at #7 Oregon State (WNIT semifinal) (10p ET, free live stream)

Saturday, Nov. 16
Missouri at Green Bay (2p, ESPN+). Tough road game for Mizzou.
UCF at Stephen F. Austin (4p, ESPN3). SFA is one of the better low-majors that nobody knows about. Won't shock me if they beat UCF.
#13 Kentucky at Virginia (5p, ESPN+)
Creighton at Drake (7p ESPN3)

Sunday, Nov. 17
FGCU at Princeton (1p ET, ESPN+). Intriguing matchup (unfortunately at the same time as UConn-Temple).
Arizona at #22 Texas (2p, LHN). Despite what polls say, Arizona should probably be favored here.
Georgia Tech at Georgia (2p, SECN+)
#5 Texas A&M at Rice (3p, ESPN+). Most anticipated nonconference game for Rice ever?
#19 Arizona State at Minnesota (4p, BTN)
Gonzaga at #3 Stanford (8p, free live stream). Rematch of last year's upset at Spokane.
I tend to agree with your assessment of the Arizona - Texas game. While this will be the first test for the Wildcats I'm not sure how anyone on the Longhorn squad is going to slow McDonald down. Moreover we're going to see how good Arizona's defense really is in this contest on the road.

Cate Reese has been a bit up and down so far. I think her having a good game would go a long way toward helping Arizona win. Also although McDonald showed what she's capable of last season she's really only "gone off" 1 game so far this year. I guess to put it another way I don't think Arizona is firing on all cylinders yet.

Central Michigan is making a game of it against Louisville despite cold three-point shooting. 39-36 Lou at halftime (I watch on DVR; game is probably almost over now). CMU has a pretty good freshman point guard, Molly Davis.

Kylie Shook seems to be coming into her own.

So...Texas is trailing UTSA after 1Q.

@Plebe looks like Dean made her season debut for UCLA today.
