True story a Styx fan might appreciate. I was an on-air DJ at WGLT-FM, sometime around 1971. It was, at that time, the student-run FM (now NPR) station at Illinois State University. The exact date escapes me. A friend from Chicago dropped by the studio with a reel of tape, and proposed some minor mischief. He mentioned that his PT job at Wooden Nickel Studios caused him to bring the tape back to campus with him, and that it would be cool to play it. So we did. It was Styx first album, being almost ready for release in 1972. So, in case you wondered who gave Styx first LP their first airplay, now you know.

Such was DJ life in the very weird 70's.
