I can't educate you because you are not open to it. I will pray that you come to terms with the hurt you have that is blocking your relationship with God. But know that you are gravely misguided in the meantime, and that someone or something filled your head with a jumble of nonsense and hate that has nothing to do with God. Peace.
Tapping out already?

Prayer is worthless, and honestly if my kid was in that school when it went down, I would be pretty taken aback if people tried to come up to me and say that they'll pray for them, as if they have a private line to the master of the universe whom planned for my kid to be dead in the first place, and as if anything would come of their thinking. God (assuming one exists) watches millions of children die every year in terrible ways, yet their little attempt at telepathy is supposed to make it reconsider and make a single exception for my one child?
If that is your belief, then so be it. I just don't think this is the right thread to voice your belief especially with such a tragic event. Some people pray for others, others go down and help or donate money and some do all of the above.

Just don't turn this tragedy into a religious debate.

I'm sorry I made a religious comment in this thread, it's not the place. I have faith just am very against organized religion. The bball board clearly isn't the place for these discussions.

There's no debate here. Prayer is worthless, as is telling people about it. It's as simple as that.

As tragic as it is, it amazes me that these regions that suffer the worst of us all from natural disasters: tornadoes, hurricanes, floods.... are the most religious regions of the country. I think this is a good time to revisit how capricious our alleged creator is with its worshiper-soulslave-playthings.

Which is why this thread should move over to the cespool. Again.

. Not open to your education? I went to Catholic schools my whole life and think organized religion is a huge crock of . Telling people you will pray for them is the height of arrogance.
I wasn't responding to you. I agree with you about organized religion. I intended to be arrogant to "babysheep" because, well, he's a mushroom cap.

I don't like people who try to tell me what to believe; and I don't like people who make fun of others for what they believe. He is arguing against a god of his own invention, which makes it easy for him to mock it; it sure as hell isn't any god I know.

One of the surest things about the internet is that whenever the topic of religion comes up, people who aren't terribly bright will try very, very hard to prove it.

Shouldn't take much to prove that religion exists. Are there people who think it doesn't?

God, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother story, as they say. Would be quite a feat to prove that one, and a fool's errand to try.
