Others that haven't been mentioned that I liked include Slap Shot, Seabiscuit, The Rookie and Greatest Game Ever Played (Hoop Dreams for a documentary). There was also an obscure minor league baseball movie called Long Gone that was really good.
Has there ever been a decent movie that even tangentially involved tennis?

So.....Rocky won the Best Picture Oscar.....but I don't know that it's a sports movie as much as its a love story.
I'm going with.....
Hoosiers
Bull Durham
Bad news bears
Raging Bull
The Hustler
The Natural
Hoosiers, Slapshot and Bull Durham are up there.
Lots of good choices in this thread!
What are your 3 favorite sports movies in order? There are a lot of close calls but this is my list..
1) Hoosiers
2)Bull Durhan
3)Field of Dreams

Bagger Vance
Cinderella Man thought I'd mention it
Jerry Macguire

"Bend it Like Beckham."
I liked the Bagger Vance story but you can't have a guy who swings like Matt Damon play a key part, he was putrid..........kind of like trying to sell Levar Burton for Ron LeFlore!!![]()
