I stayed away from this thread and now I know why. So here is my chance to piss everyone off!
Look, Cuban was being honest and he was not being hateful. This could have been the start of a conversation about how we all stereotype to some extent or another. Too bad we can't talk about this stuff like grown-ups.
Worse yet, every bigot now feels more justified that racism no longer exists and that all related incidents are bull like this overreaction to Cuban.
1) This is not an NBA witch hunt , it is a media frenzy. Big difference. Because that is what the media does. Everyday on every issue. 2) Unlike Sterling, nothing will happen to Cuban other then the stupid media frenzy. Because every one with half a brain knows he didn't do anything wrong beyond inadvertently hurting the feelings of parents who recently loss their son due to that stereotype. And he apologized to them. 3) He was trying to admit that, like most of us, he is not perfect. I applaud him for that.
If one links Sterling with Cuban feeling like they were both unjustly punished by blacks and liberals for being "politically incorrect", then I think you are a bigot
On the other hand, if you link Cuban and Sterling as racists and don't see the difference in their statements and intent , I think you are a bigot too.
