OT the LeBron- Stephen A Smith feud

Jordan with today's training, coaching and advancements in medicine and recovery would be up to speed with today's best in no time.
I don’t doubt it at all. But the argument has always been drop them in the other era. Drop Steph/Kyrie in the 80s they are getting called warlocks. Drop Giannis he’s averaging 40 on 75% shooting. I could go on. It’s just advancement, happens in every regard.

Ok going back on topic here, Lebron and Stephen A deserve each other. It's like 2 little kids arguing and people say Hurley whines smdh.

Nobody in today's game was doing what Jordan was doing. Hands down the best player in the world in today's game is a dude who looks like he just learned how to run and can't jump over a nickel and the second best player in the world today is a YMCA version of Jordan. I can say that because they're my two favorite players in the league and it's true. Again, nobody in today's game was doing anything close to what Jordan was doing back then, he looks like a video game player.

The 90s isn't ancient times, the guys from that era were still dominant players into the 2010s, Jason Kidd for example became a better shooter as he got older.

This is so lazy.

Nah, it’s what it would likely be. It’s evident you have disdain for the modern game, again, I am no huge fan of all the 3s and stoppages, etc. But i’m not some curmudgeon shaking my cane saying “The old days were so much better” like all of these old heads. They hate on the current NBA and players. Shaq and Chuck, big fan of those guys, but they are certified haters. Today’s stars really don’t do much besides pay homage to the past legends.

You obviously hate LeBron, fully you’re right. But pawning off your equally, often more exaggerated opinions as truth is lazy itself.

Alas, neither of us will change eachother’s mind, so best to both shut the hell up and move on.

You could just simulate and settle any debate.

"Jordan was making an impassioned plea before the competition committee that had gathered to consider rules changes to enliven the NBA game. Jordan spoke passionately. If teams were able to play zone defenses, he said, he never would have had the career he did," Sam Smith reported.

From HERE.

The amount of data players have to download and process, and the amount of ground they have to cover compared to even 15 years ago is staggering. Old heads struggle to understand this b/c of their nostalgia glasses. Jordan would be great today, but the triple threat stuff he thrived with 30 years ago has largely disappeared because it's an inefficient way to play ball when more complex zone and help schemes are allowed.

Take 20 minutes and understand what you're missing:

I guess the tables have turned and i’m gonna be the old head here because I don’t really think these simulations are of much use.

I loved the modern game until it became a three point contest with poor post play. The game badly needs balance.

You're one of those guys who thinks everything is better because it's newer. It was the same 10 foot rim then, guys just used it to put guys on posters more and they would throw it in to 7 footers right by that 10 foot rim who had great post moves.

And Steph would've been dropped on his arse and wouldn't be dribbling around like a globetrotter launching 30 footers constantly.

Jordan would absolutely carve up this league. You were old enough to have the opportunity to watch it and you still missed it.

I mean, my view had a better track record than yours, at least related to sports. Guys got dunked on more because a lot of the bigs were plodding and slower and less athletic. You think Chris Dudley or Bryant Reeves are touching the league these days?

idk what to say to someone who thinks Steph wouldn't have been able to hack it in an era where Fat Lever repeatedly finished top 10 in MVP voting and Michael Adams was a 25 ppg scorer.

Anyway: Jordan would still be great today, but MJ himself said he would never have had the career he did if he had to play by today's rules. "Rich man's DeMar DeRozen" is still really good, though.

I'm not sure what your point is with this, you're just going to name Nuggets players under Doug Moe and Westhead? Jalen Brunson is the best point guard in the NBA. Austin Reeves scores 20 per game, Norman Powell scores 23 per game. James Harden averaged 36 ppg in the modern era.

Sick Jordan, DeMar DeRozan Jordan comparison! Obviously a joke but I wouldn't be surprised if you thing SGA is better than Jordan.

.-.
Nah, skill-wise these guys would run laps around guys in the 80s/90s. Drexler literally couldn’t dribble with his left, Jordan early in his career could barely go left. There is a massive gulf in skill lol.
Only problem is, nobody wants to watch. Does that not qualify is important AT ALL ?

See, you say you don’t watch and this proves it. Jalen Brunson is NOT the best PG in the NBA, Austin Reeves is INCREDIBLY skilled, turn on the TV once in a while. This is lazy. You don’t watch, that’s fine, but don’t make statements as if you know what’s going on then.

So refute it. If not, you’re the one being lazy.
You've offered nothing other than things are better/advanced now because things are always better if they're current. Better at what? They certainly are better three point shooters. They certainly aren't better post players. The players are the same size so we can put that one to rest.

That’s your go to lol. “You’ve offered nothing, I am smarter and have given evidence of such” You haven’t said anything other than Jordan would own this modern game, you know, just because. Would average 45 easy, for sure man. His era was your glory days obviously.

The average player today has better ball movement, shooting, more athletic, faster, more versatile. Not sure what else you want. You’ll strongly disagree based on nothing but nostalgia though, so no problemo.

How are they more athletic and faster?

You just talk out of your butt.

How are they not?

You’re talking out of your butt.

We can both do this insult game big guy.
You're so predictable, it's hilarious. You used to argue they're bigger now. I tell you they're not so you jump to they're more athletic and faster now.

Stuck in your ways, tsk tsk. You don’t even watch the game, right? How can you have an opinion on it?

Anywho, let’s be bigger men and move on. You can respond and have the last word, I know you need that.

Ok were a bit OT here, as this has turned into the Cardiac Andre vs Super John feud instead.

He's transparent as all hell, it's funny to me. I said I stopped watching as much NBA this season because a three point shooting contest makes for an awful product, he tells me I don't watch the sport so I don't know what's going on. Yet he's commented for years and made declarative statements for years about a player and an entire generation of basketball he wasn't around for and didn't watch.

It's the same routine with him every time and his last post is verbatim how he always ends these discussions.
