OT: Sexiest Song

There are a number of songs from Garbage (yes, that's the name of the band ) that could be included here but listening to Shirley Manson telling me to "sweat it all out" makes this song the one.

Many songs from the dream pop genre are sexy to me. Beautiful vocals, often a bit breathy or sleepy. It's like a lullaby for grown ups. I could go on and on w/ those types of songs. I'll try to limit myself. Here's one from The Sundays, I much prefer their rendition to The Rolling Stones' version.

Another from the same band for good measure. Sigh. Harriet Wheeler, why did you quit singing?

This band isn't very well known. I'm seeing them in a couple weeks.

Another little known group that I like.

Good thread. Now I can't stop. This is sexy in a kind of sweet and innocent way. Well known from a movie that ridiculously tried to pass off Rachel Leigh Cook as an ugly duckling.

Probably more the video than the song, but....well anyway.

Freedom 90 - George Michael

Not really sexy at all. But certainly creepily prurient. I actually did first hear this on an Edison cylinder back in the 1980s. Recorded in 1912. Ada Jones (among the first female vocalists to be recorded, according to Wiki) and Walter Van Brunt recorded it the same year, and it was a hit (number 8 on the charts). Worth a listen, especially if you think moral standards have fallen in the past 100 years.

Then of course there is the modern example which is far more explicit, far less sensual that all of these examples. Yet somehow....somehow, compelling. I can't quite put my finger on why. One response on You Tube gave a reason and said, "This (song) is why aliens won't talk to us".
