The real question is what the hell were the Vikings doing letting him go? He was 14-3 as their QB last season with 35 TD's 12 interceptions and threw for over 4,300 yards.Darnold struggled with the jets because they had a bad offensive line and no playmakers on offense. He also struggled with the Panthers. And the niners and Vikings let him go also. So it's not just the Jets who messed up.
Plus they had a top pick to draft Zach Wilson and reset the quarterback contract clock.
He wouldn't have developed to be this good if he stayed on the Jets.
It's really Zach Kuhr, the interim DC who calls the plays. The Chargers admitted they had no idea what was gong on. Completely confused on offense. Texans didn't say it but it sure looked the same. Denver had one long pass on a broken coverage play an otherwise never moved the ball at all.Darnold a huge key in San Fran. That guy from the Rams game would be the key to a W for the Seahawks he was sharp as hell. But if you’ve seen what Vrabel has done in the playoffs to make the QBs very uncomfortable, you’d be afraid the real Sam may come back. I think what the Pats do defensively is the key for them to have a shot.
It's kinda crazy that the Jets "gave up" (to be fair both were bad) on Darnold and Geno Smith who both went on to Pro Bowl, 30+TD, 4000+ yard quarterbacks elsewhere. Meanwhile the Jets are trotting 59 year old Tyrod Taylor and undrafted Brady Cook as the end of year starter. It will be the most Jets thing ever when Zach Wilson is making Pro Bowls for Miami.
