Holy crap. Sign him up!

"Obi made nearly 60 percent of his twos. He was also ferocious on the defensive glass, grabbing roughly 31 percent of opponents’ misses, a rate which ranked second in Ken Pomeroy’s database."

He looked a bit raw in HS (Westport, Green Farms) and was looking at top flight education schools. He was rated 2 stars by ESPN and flew under the radar.

There was another player from Nigeria that succeeded in school and in basketball that went to UCONN!

Chuck!!!

As a freshman at Rice, he averaged 11 points and 9 rebounds a game. He's 6'9" and 265. He's originally from Nigeria, but his guardians live in Greenwich, CT.
Obi went to high/prep school at Greens Farms Academy in Westport. Big fella' may have heard of a UCONN center of Nigerian background by way of Houston ..., and now back to the Elite 8.

Maybe he can replicate the production of his fellow Rice transfer Arsalan Kazemi

Scouting report from a friend who calls games for Rice: "He plays below the rim on both sides of the ball - not much of a rim protector at all, and doesn't have any lateral quickness. Think of him more as an undersized 5 than a big, strong 4. Not sure you could play him alongside either Nolan or Brimah."

That description reminds me of Eric Hayward. Big, strong, and uses his giant to get rebounding position on the blocks.

I'd be happy to have him here.

As I was watching ISU have it's way with us inside yesterday, all I could think was imagine if we had a decent offensive big man inside? We'd definitely win it all.

You left out the Houston connection.

This sounds eerily familiar to Mr Williams from Torrington ---- jump on him!!!

Below the rim is not always a bad thing!
