Cooley and Hurley are actually very friendly with each other. Last night was good for the rivalry but bad for anyone who likes watching good basketball....
Too bad for us. With the current lineup, we just can't compete at an NCAA level.
When just hoping to make the NIT is cause for PC celebration ...Too bad for us. With the current lineup, we just can't compete at an NCAA level.
I don't need to hear about low caliber programs like PC and Fairfield (basically the same thing) on a regular basis
Has Fairfield handed 2 of your NC teams it's ass on the court?
Umm have they even had the opportunity? PC gets up for UConn that doesn't mean your program is on UConns level or above Fairfield. Other aspects place it below the former and above the later. That's just a horrendous example to use, try better please.
Is this a joke? they played each other a week ago.PC is only slightly better than Fairfield. Fairfield also has better coaching. Honestly they would give PC fits, id predict a 2 or 3 point win by PC if they played.

Prime example of MOST UConn fans knowing ZERO about college hoops outside of Storrs. CT.

And back to my original post, an annual PC UConn matchup would help both schools that put fannies in the seats. I know all about RPI, blah blah stuff. You still have to sell tickets. PC now has annual games with URI, UMass, and BC, we need one with UConn. I know you guys are national, but regional rivalries are important for the fan bases as well. I'm surprised many here don't feel the same way. I hope as Fishy has said they make it work eventually.
While last night was not great basketball, the level of enthusiasm in the Ryan Center was very fun to watch.
good lord, many many times and you know this.Have you even beaten URI and Brown in the same season?

3 of the last 4 seasons...
No offense but the poster made some statements that gave details about what he thought about Fairfield and their coach so he was acting like he knew what he was talking about which he obviously didn't. We know nobody knows or cares but he acted like he did, hence the response he got. It's an example of most PEOPLE not giving a duck about mid-major regional programs. Don't kid yourself.
I know this is going to come as a shock to you, but not knowing the score of the PC-Fairfield game is hardly the same as not knowing, for example, that Carolina beat Michigan State the other night. I live on the west coast and if i took a poll of the sports fans in my office - which i won't because it's freaking lame - I would bet that the only people who had even heard of PC or Fairfield would be a random Connecticut / Southern New England transplant, if there was one.
I get that you've probably never left the Northeast so you don't have a sense of just how anonymous these programs are, but you sound ridiculous.
You have insufferable pr**k down to a science. You must have obtained a doctorate in it from UConn congrats.PC is at a completely different level than Fairfield, just looking at post-seson performance the last 5 years.
PC has one appearance and a dream-like run to the NIT quarterfinals.
Fairfield has one appearance and dropped out one round earlier than PC did last year.
So, as I score it PC - One Dream season & Fairfield - No dream seasons.
TKO - PC.

right, I guess I was only talking about my response which is not what you were responding to.The point is that only a deluded PC fan who thinks his program has a national profile that it doesn't would take that to be a "prime example" of "most" UConn fans not knowing about college basketball beyond UConn.
It's really just a "prime example" of people not giving a about crappy regional games like that. Maybe you and your friends are still buzzing about last night's Rider / Monmouth game, too. I'm not, but that doesn't mean I don't know anything about college basketball beyond UConn.
