Pitt is absolutely terrible.

They’re bad enough where losing to Navy is actually the expected result.

They are going to be horrible this season, Stallings was a terrible hire. Jared Wilson-frame from Hartford is their best player.

ACC team losing to Navy and a B1G team losing to Indiana State...

Suddenly I'm nostalgic for the OG Dream Team

Isn't Navy Patriot League? This is Colgate's competition.

Stallings is a horrible coach, not sure why people like him, all Vandy ever did was lose big games and underachieve.

Stallings make Jamie Dixon look like Calhoun that move had disaster written all over from it from the very beginning and Dixon want anything to write home about.

Ha, I mean he is an okay coach but this post is ridiculously stupid. He took Vandy to multiple Sweet 16s and to the NCAAT almost every year with no pros in a school which is impossible to recruit to. He lost a whopping 3 times to seeds lower than him in the NCAAT.

Current Pitt roster has only three schollie holdovers, all seniors. Only Luther would possibly crack UConn's roster as a bench player. Other two are useless.

It's kinda weird that the big gripe with Dixon was his micromanagement and not letting offensive minded players play offense. Stallings is a 180-degree in that his teams don't defend well and the offensive schemes are pretty wide open. He had to scramble this year after losing Cam Johnson and Nix. He does have a couple of decent recruits already for 2018, but this season is going to be a disaster, possibly worse than Penn State, which I don't recall has ever happened.

Kevin Stallings is an above average college basketball coach and he has had success. And he has put kids into the NBA. But, Pitt faces bigger LT problems in the ACC. In the Big East, Pitt developed into one of the top programs. They played a very physical style of basketball and they really lived off players from NY. Now, they play in the ACC which will not allow the physical play and they don't play in NY anymore. Can they win playing more offensive style basketball in the ACC? I'm skeptical that Pitt can recruit the top recruits to be a consistent winner in the ACC.

Pitt's upside is probably a mid tier basketball program in the ACC which is not that attractive to top young basketball coaches.

Guys, we are in absolutely no position to make fun of any other P5 team for a horrible loss. All any team has to do is turn around and point at losses, in recent years, to Yale, Northeastern, Wagner and Houston when they were bad. Plus narrow escapes galore these past few years against non P5 teams (like BU and LMU to name a few). To be real, this is unmerited, unwarranted schadenfreude. And in the end, at least Pitt is in a better conference, which cushions the blow of this type of loss, where as Uconn can not handle too many more of these.

I find it fascinating that Vandy baseball can use it to their advantage but other Vandy sports struggle.

I know Corbin sells Vandy as Ivy league caliber education with SEC sports. That's a pretty good combo to offer.

No, you can´t though. Really, you can´t. Beat Yale, Wagner and Northeastern, then we can make fun of them. Also, beat BU and LMU by more than 2 or 3.... It is a bad look.

Just because we may live in a glass house (with 4 championship banners on the mantel, by the way) doesn't mean it can't be awfully fun to throw stones.

Every top bball team has a wtf game vs a lower tier school. Look at Kentucky first 2 games this year and their embarrassing loss to Robert Morris a few years ago. There other instances with other schools also.

It happens. Pitt has a bare cupboard this year it's going to be a difficult year and there not much hope in the future with the quality of coaches and teams in the ACC. Stallings is a downgrade from Dixon

Stallings is a really good X and O coach, but his name and recruiting hasn't been good enough for what Pitt should expect.

He may have been a terrible hire, but he's by no means a terrible coach.

Being from/living in Pittsburgh, the downfall of Pitt athletics is equal parts satisfying and maddening.

The big debate locally is whether they should be tarping off the upper deck of Heinz Field for football and basketball just seems rudderless. I agree that Stallings is a good coach, but that program needs a salesman as even when they were winning, they were boring to watch...now that they're a door mat, it's even worse. The PG Carr looks like a player to watch and the CT kid Wilson-Frame can fill it up...beyond that, it's a really bad team that may not win a conference game or even have a winning non-conference record.

As much fun as it is to see all my Pitt friends in misery, they're still cashing those ACC checks. Ive gotten most of them to realize their teams would likely be much better had they gone to the AAC, but at this point it doesn't matter.
