It's part of the reason why he's the best golfer of all time. Nobody has done more for the sport than Tiger has.

He may be a great golfer, but as a man, he is a loser. How sad a sport will look to someone like him to promote as it's face.

The only difference between Tiger Woods and a HUGE number of pro athletes, including a lot who have reps as "great guys," is that Tiger got caught. That's it and that's all.
 
Also, frankly, an in an individual sport who gets in trouble is sort of a "big deal" because you aren't letting your teammates or franchise down. Only Nike. It's a little bit of a different dynamic.
 
Phil is 6 years older than Tiger. Most of the guys in the top 15 were Tigers age or older. Tiger will win another major or two the way Phil did. Hang around with 3 decent rounds and put in one great round.

Crack has it right.....there's thousands of athlete's who are no different than Tiger, and professional business people too. Good news is for them the media does not follow them around and no one cares about them. Does it make it right...no! Does it make him a loser, by the haters yes!!

If a loser is predicated all on the fact he was unfaithful then you are so correct....if there's more to life than making those mistakes as a young man then you may be the loser! Who knows?

The funny thing is while these people won't admit it, they hated Tiger well before the "skunk" stories came out and now they have something to rest their laurels on....pitiful!

How about showing some of Matsayama, young guy on way up, ends up +2 with a penalty stroke.
Here are list of major winners since Tiger's last - 2 Phil, Rose, Scott, 2 Mcllroy, Els, Simpson, Watson, Bradley, Clarke, Schwartzel, Kaymer, Oosthuizen, McDowell, Yong-Eun Yank, Cink, Glover, Cabrara, 2 Harrington. That's 18 guys - much more interesting to me, maybe not the ESPN talking heads.

What made it interesting and compelling is that Woods finished in the top 6, 9 of those times. Its his pursuit of Jack's record that makes it so, whether he accomplishes it or not.

Just curious can you list the others who have won 3 events this year? And in much better fields and less attempts?

All you did there was list the reason's why it so hard to win majors now because there are so many good players..........I could see people giving Rory crap, hell he doesn't even make cuts now but Tiger, he tied for 4th and was in until the back 9 yesterday...........many guys faded from a round of a lifetime by Phil...........Tiger promoting himself is a joke too - yeah you see him so much on TV talking about NIKE and playing in so many tourney's promoting himself.......you hate the guy no issues, but don't make stupid excuses for hating him. You hated him before he cheated I promise!!

A couple of those Sox players (Napoli and Gomes) had Dave Kingman approved bombs last night. Gomes' shot was halfway up the lighting mast.

No one is disputing Tiger's past incredible performances and current great performances. The issue is he gets an inordinate amount of publicity at the expense of people who are actually leading/winning a tournament. In my paper this morning I had to go less than 2 column inches before they started talking about Tiger who finished in 8th place. My God they started writing about him before they even mentioned Westwood. You can slice it and dice it any way you want, but that is poor journalism and really is unconscionable. It isn't Tiger's fault, it is the medias' fault, however, that is why many people are sick and tired of reading about him. The slutting around on his wife and children is his fault and he deserves to be raked over the coals for that. I mean, who knows? Maybe Elin is a miserable byatch and that is why he strays. However, if my wife looked like her, I would retire now and stay home! I think he has a psychological problem personally. At the very least an oversized ego, at worse a sexual deviancy problem.

I would consider a 37 year old man with a wife and children and the experiences he has had to not be a young man. He is not a loser by the haters, he is a loser period in the game of life. If there is a "pearly gates", do you think St. Peter is going to look at his golf scorecard or the list of adulteress affairs he had?
