It's probably about time for another. Thought with Nurse leaving, us hoping for Amihere, and Bird playing with Canada, why not give a shout out to our northern neighbors.

So any songs about Canada, Canada in the title, artists from Canada, you know the drill. Should be plenty of stuff to choose from.

Have a go, eh? Or if you don't like these threads, then take off you hoser.

Gord Downie passes a couple years ago. Kinda the voice of Canada for years.

Ahead By A Century - The Tragically Hip

From (Canadian) Joni Mitchell's highly acclaimed "Blue" album written circa her relationships with Graham Nash and James Taylor...excerpt below from this song's lyrics.

Just before our love got lost you said
"I am as constant as a northern star"
And I said "Constantly in the darkness
Where's that at?
If you want me I'll be in the bar"

On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue TV screen light
I drew a map of Canada
Oh Canada
With your face sketched on it twice
Oh you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet

.....

Makes you think there is hope for this world of ours:

Great song and love her version!
She's not Canadian but prefer Jane Monheit's.

A young female jazz singer now been around for a few years is Nikki Yanofsky.
I think she's becoming a great. Performed at Newport Jazz as a teenager.

Love the Tragically Hip shout out. ❤️ And Joni.

Gotta have Drake in here! Lots to choose from but I’ll go with Weston Road Flows, since I travel partway up that street nearly every day.

“Since Vince Carter was on some through the legs arms in the hoop [expletive]...

You was ridin’ TTC metro, I had the place boomin’”

Tahiti Treat from the corner store = yup.

Pre-Robin Hood Bryan Adams, particularly the Cuts Like a Knife and Reckless records.

Hank Snow fro Nove Scotia: Country Music's best Canadian singer.

No sprechen sie latin. There is just something about Edges "ringing" guitar in the U2 version that I really like.
Ixnay on the ermanGay, my friend! Go Huskies! By the way, .from your accent I would say you were related to Sgt Schultz.

Nice thread. I may be a hoser but I'll play along, eh. I'm a fan of several bands from Canada. Also a few songs w/ a title or lyrics about our northern neighbors.

A song from NGDB about a journey across Canada by train. I think it's probably a bit metaphorical for the journey through life as well.

I have a few instrumentals. First, from Bruce Cockburn who's right up there with Leo Kottke and John Fahey in his acoustic guitar prowess:
