A Kiss Before Dying (Sean Young & Matt Dillon) -- Though to be fair, it was so bad we laughed our way through it.

Drive!

I'm on a personal vendetta to have that movie recognized by the federal government, the Pope, NATO, & the United Nations as an official waste of 2 hours of your life. For the life of me, I can't even begin to understand how some people consider it some kind of great movie. I'm getting pissed just thinking about it.

Almost every Kevin Costner epic, lead by The Postman. Water World is on the list as well as Wyatt Earp, but at least I am not looking for the 3.5 hours of my life back from those two. The Postman is a dumpster fire that operates on a completely different level.

In the interest of full disclosure, I never saw Dances with Wolves, but its success apparently gave Mr. Costner the hubris to think that everyone would be interested in seeing 4 hour blocks of him at a time.

All the Twilight movies. Actually, I can only comment on the first two, but I assume the rest were just as bad.

The Host was terrible as well. Saw it at Redbox, an alien body snatcher with Sarcosise(?) Ronin (and actress I liked from Lovely Bones and Hanna), so I thought it might be good. Didn't find out until after it was based on another Stephanie Meyer book of Twilight fame, which explained what a terrible story it was (the whole thing is crap about a love triangle between her, her body snatched entity and two guys). Just horrible. I don't expect anyone here to relate since I am sure you were all smarter than me and never saw it.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico was a total disgrace. Ugly, unfunny, mean-spirited, it was a failure on all levels.

Independence Day, Pearl Harbor and This is 40.

Independence Day...God, where to start. The president's wife dying was the most awfully acted scene in the history of film. It held the title for about ten minutes and then the scene where the president lectures the scientist about something or other takes over first place. And that scene only remained at the top until Randy Quaid's final moments. All in all, it might have three of the worst moments in film history - it's the Secretariat of bad movies.

Pearl Harbor. F---. What a s--- show that movie was. I was rooting for the Japanese after the first ten minutes of the movie.

This is 40. (a/k/a Jude Apatow Needs an Editor). It was so, so, so long and so, so, so depressing. I have no idea how it made it onto film without someone suggesting to Apatow that it might cause people to cut their wrists halfway through - it might have been the worst thing I've ever seen in a movie theater.

Others (And I'm trying not to pick on kids movies like Ladybugs, Little Giants, Home Alone):
Worst non-sports sequel :Gremlins II
Speaking of which (concerning the Gremlins franchise), has anyone ever though about why midnight? Is it because of their sleep schedule? How do they even know, Can they tell time? What if they travel to a different time zone, can they not eat after 11:00 then? What if they travel to Indiana where some counties observe central time and a county directly north observe the eastern time zone? Are Gremlins students of geography? Significant holes in the plot, if you ask me.

Terrible (Non-sequel) Sports Movie - The Babe. American Anthem
Is that why Gretzky was traded to the Kings? Good Grief.

Worst Action-Suspense Film - 2012
So unbelievable, it is painfully difficult to suspend disbelief.

Worst Comedy (This one is tough, because they cannot be taken seriously by definition) - Stop or My Mom Will Shoot. Cops and Robbersons, Funny People.
There are others, but what do you do when the stars of the film clearly mail it in for a paycheck.

Worst movie that could have been good, if not for Eric Roberts - (Tie) The Specialist, Best of the Best
Wasted performances by Stallone, Woods, Stone (The Specialist), and James Earl Jones (BOTB). The Chris Penn character was totally out of place too.

Anything with Laura Linney, Andy McDowell or Sandra Bullock!

Groundhog Day was great. And The Heat was good too, but Melissa McCarthy carried it. Searching for Bobby Fischer was enjoyable, but Linney was not a main character.

You're so right on Laura Linney - the Savages and The Squid and the Whale were both painful!

You know what your getting with Bullock and For Macdowell, she was in Groundhog Day, 4 Weddings, and Sex, Lies & Videotape.

I was going to mention Cops and Robbersons, but I was sure nobody had ever heard of it. Might have been the last time anyone cast Chevy Chase in a lead role, other than Vacation remakes.

I don't think you can hang the piece of crap that was Squid and the Whale on Linney. She was pretty great in You Can Count on Me and the Tales of the City miniseries.

@Champs couldn't agree more re: 10,000 BC or agree less regarding Million Dollar Baby.

My nomination is Hercules in New York:

Keep in mind that this version is better than the original in which Schwarzenegger is dubbed.

Oh I forgot about Battleship. I just saw it.
If you haven't seen it yet, but have seen Transformers, Independence Day, and Down Periscope, then you don't have to waste your time with Battleship. Borat, Like most comedies, is all about expectations. Its stupid juvenile humor and that is not your particular brand of vodka, then of course it is a bad movie. But I think Borat accomplished Sasha Baron Cohen aim. There are other movies that are just terrible (See: Beverly Hills Cop III...actually almost all of Eddie Murphy's catalog that does not involve stand-up comedy, BHC, BHC II, Boomerang, and the 48 hours movies), but I tried to stay away from sequels, because they are basically money grabs.

100% agree on Funny People. I consider myself pretty easy to please when it comes to movies, but my friends and I actually walked out of the theater on that one. Horrible. Doesn't help that it seems to be on HBO every other day.
