Illinois State was injury-riddled through mid-February. Since they got everyone back, they've played great. Including today, where they have drilled UNI in the first half.

Sad to say, but we actually have to root for mid-major regular season champs to win their conference tourneys, not because of NCAA bubble concerns but because regular season champs that don't win their conference nor get invited to the NCAA get auto bids to the NIT... which could push our seed down and eliminate home games (or worse).

Good because they may get 3 from there. Leaving the likes of PC, Pitt and the Johnnies to watch through their hands. F em all

Pitt is on the bubble. The other 2 are not.

Pitt is OUT. 19-13 and 8-10 losing their last 3 - gone.

Johnnies need to win in the NBE tourney as they have zero big wins and are 21-10 as is PC, who also may need a win with only one, maybe 2 if Butler counts, that mean anything.

No one here is IN.

Not that Lunardi is the end all, but he has St. John's as an 8 seed.

He isn't end all and they haven't beaten anyone. The eye test they're decent but more upsets in conference tourney means less bids so nothing is definite for a 10 loss team who still can lose another quickly in their tourney. SMU was 24-8 or something last year and stayed home, we'll see.

PC has an RPI of 23 and a SOS of 8. They are in, and probably a 6-7 seed.

So basically they're going to lose to a last 4 in as opposed to a mid major. Gotcha

These tournaments have absolutely no bearing on us.

Pitt's out. I think Providence and St. John's are likely pretty safe.

I think the Big East will be fortunate to have one team still standing at the end of the first weekend - Nova's the real deal, though. They were flat-scary against St. John's in the second half yesterday.

St. Johns and Providence are both comfortably in. Neither are great teams, but compare their resumes to some of the other squads looking to get in, and it's not even a conversation worth having.
