I think they called the foul after the ball had been released, meaning the bucket would have counted if he had made it.

This is probably the last time I'll ever root for Louisville in a game, but I almost want Cincy to win.
 
Some shady reffing these last few minutes in favor of Cincy. So much contact on the cards end of the court but you can't breathe on Kirkpatrick. Same kind of stuff down the stretch for them vs us. Foul every time and you
Can bet they'll only call half of them.

This is a bad outcome for anyone with long-term interest in the AAC. It will be embarrassing for the conference if its first champion is a team on its way out.

Furthermore, it would have been more compelling for our home game against Cincy to come against a potentially top-5 team, rather than 10-12. FWIW, I don't think we have a chance @Louisville, so them being ranked higher doesn't do anything for our "quality win" profile.

That was a hell of a game. If Russ Smith wins conference player of the year over Napier or Kilpatrick I will be seriously pissed, the guy plays like a total idiot half the time.

You don't think we have a chance? Really? Louisville is very good, but let's not pretend they're this unstoppable juggernaut.

We still have a shot at winning the conference with UL winning. Need to sweep the rest of our games and Cinci to lose one more and then UL to lose one more I believe.

Louisville still has @Memphis and @ SMU (could lose both). They end with us. It is now a great race for the reg season title. Cinci wins its over. Our game against SMU has more importance now. We can beat Ville.

This is gonna be FUN! :)
 
The reffing was plain bizarre, so why ask why? Our duties this season include getting through each game alive.

The non goal-tend was my play of the game. Not sure how you could miss that - hell, that ball was about to drop through.
 
So the last football game against Louisville ends with them winning in OT on our home field...

Looks like last scheduled basketball game against them ends with them hitting a buzzer beater on our home court.

I need a drink....

That was a terrible no call, the ball was right on the rim and actually looked like it was working it's way to drop back in. I can't feel sorry for you guys after what happened to us on our home floor when we played Louisville in Hartford this year.

The officiating was dismal for most of the game and probably helped Cincinnati a little more than it did Louisville through the course of the game.

I was very impressed with the interior play of Harrell and Mathiang. They gave UC a dose of their own medicine.

When Caupain got fouled with 11 seconds I knew it was too much time. I am used to having teams hit shots at the buzzer against Cincinnati...

I was just glad we fouled someone besides Kilpatrick, lol. It gets so old watching him routinely kill us at the line. In fact, it gets old watching him be 80% of the offense. But - he is just that good - so, in a way, I'm glad to get to watch someone - no matter who - at the very top of the game. What a player he is.

Hopefully the two will meet again in Memphis for the rubber match and the conference tournament title...

I thought that was a great game. Both those teams just play so hard on defense. Kilpatrick managed to take nearly half of Cincinnati's shots while recording one assist, which is pretty remarkable.

I agree with Tenspro that a Cincinnati win would have been better for the conference, but it would be nice if you'd put away the histrionics once in a while.

I'm pretty certain you have message boards for your own teams to discuss this matter on.
 
I like the way we've been playing lately, but Louisville has been a terrible matchup for us over the last several years.

2013-14: Lost at home by 12
2012-13: Lost at home by 15
2011-12: Lost on the road by 21

Whether in terms of coaching, style of play, toughness, or skill, they've had our number. I think we'll be able to do better than the previous 3 games, but to beat a team, on the road, that we've scarcely been competitive with is a very tall order.

Excellent game. I don't think it mattered that much to us who won and we have a good chance of beating both of them. It will take sustained high energy performances but we can do it.
