I don’t know if this will be a harder thread to participate in because you have to be aware of specific live performances by A+ talent at the top of their game that makes you wish you had been there. Over time my sons and i have identified a few that i will share in a series of posts. Be interested if anyone else have ones they know about that might be on you tube. With one exception, these are all before live audiences, which is what i really want to be the point. One is probably a promo video, but still very good. All of these are bewteen about 25 and 50 years old which is what i like about them.

Here is the first. Tina Turner probably already in her mid 50s

I don't think it is on You Tube, but I saw the Eagles at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and that venue is a one of a kind (for now) that is unlike anything anywhere else. I think as time goes on most major talents will have the Sphere on their bucket list as a place they have to do before they call it quits.

One i almost forgot. Streisand and Barry Gibb. From a great album called “Guilty” that Gibb and his brothers wrote for Streisand

Finally, Simon and Garfunkel. Well actually this is Garfunkel solo at his famous Concert in Central Park in a reunion with Simon

I attended the concert in Central Park, I also attended the Live Aide show in Philadelphia (not London).

I don’t know if this is exactly what you had in mind, but i looked it up and found this on Youtube.

5 years after the Lunario concert posted by BB above The Warning played their 10th anniversary show at The Pepsi Center in Mexico City.
Dust To Dust again, leading into one of their signature songs - both written when they were teenagers - Dull Knives (Cut Better).

They also played one of the largest outdoor festivals in Europe this past summer - Pol' and Rock
They had to follow one of the festival headliners and their set started at midnight. No problem, playing live is one of their superpowers.
So far, this is the only clip not under copyright available on YT.

Back in 1969, I saw Chicago play a concert at Jorgensen Hall on Campus. Fantastic! Here they are a Tanglewood, from the same tour, with their original lineup.
Personnel: Robert Lamm - keyboards, lead vocals Terry Kath - guitar, lead vocals Peter Cetera - bass, lead vocals James Pankow - trombone, percussion Lee Loughnane - trumpet, percussio, background vocals Walter Parazaider - woodwinds, percussion, background vocals Daniel Seraphine - drums. Video is indexed so you can skip to your favorite songs.

I'll vouch for the greatness of live performances -

We saw Billy Joel in the Last Play at Shea (2008) and a number of years earlier at the Garden. He was, at one time, absolutely frenetic in his performance, much different from his televised recent performance.

I'm a huge Neil Diamond fan - but really - his live performances were much much better than his album recordings for individual songs.

And Elton John, whom we saw twice, very very entertaining.

These days, we are pretty much reduced to the local tribute bands at a nearby venue - but even then, I have to say - how much fun it is to do live music.

When the beat performers find an extra gear during a live show, there is something special.

Pink Floyd - One Slip
From the Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour in 1988.
I bought the VHS of this concert in back in the early 90s (still have it) and it wasn't released in a newer format until recently (2018?).

I am way, way late to discovering Rush. For whatever reason I didn't catch on as to what an amazing group they were "back then".
Working on correcting that misstep.
