He is the greatest shooter ever. The shots he makes night in and night out make it impossible for me to argue it anymore. Anyone who doesn't believe, try to catch a few warriors games asap, it really is incredible.

This has been fact for quite some time now. Anyone who still thinks Ray Allen is a better shooter than Steph is delusional and extremely bias Steph is by far the greatest shooter of all time moving and set 3s

It must drive Lebron crazy that Curry is now better than him. I remember when Curry made his first all-star game and Lebron talked to him like he was this harmless little kid that was just happy to be invited to the game, well now it's Steph's league.

Ehh I still think Lebron is the greatest player in the world but it's debatable

What can Lebron do better than Curry at this point? Lebron's a better defender but I can't think of one thing Curry isn't better than him at on the offensive end.

Rebounder, passer, defender, pretty much all besides shooting LeBron is still better

The thing Lebron doesn't get enough credit for is the insane workload he shoulders. Between USA Basketball and five consecutive NBA Finals the guy is logging an insane number of basketball miles and he's not some kind of specialist, he's a genetic freak who - short of a lights-out jumper - really does everything on the court.

Completely disagree. Remember we are talking about right now, Curry is much more dominant right now than Lebron. Curry is the better passer, shooter, paint scorer, uses both hands better, ft shooter and he has his team playing as well as any team ever has. I will give you defender and rebounder but I don't really see how it's much of a debate on the offensive end.

Curry's shooting ability is bar none #1, but in 25 years when my son is on wikipedia looking up old NBA stats like I was when I was a teenager, he will see "Most all-time 3pt field goals: RAY ALLEN", thats all he will remember. Until Curry breaks Ray's record, that will hold true, and thats not taking anything away from Curry, he is absolutely incredible, but longevity is impressive in its own right. If Curry gets back to his injury prone state from a couple years ago, we could see Curry in a similar light to a guy like Pete Maravich in a few decades. I fully expect this comment to be controversial.

Lebron is still a better passer than Curry. He is also a better defender and alot more versatile. But Curry is the greatest shooter in history and playing lights out right now. I think the spurs just used today's game for scouting purposes. In a playoff game, I'm sure the spurs will slow down the tempo and put k. leonard on him the whole game.

I still have Lebron as the best player in the NBA but if Curry wins another NBA Finals this year I sure have to think about it.

Yep typical Popovich in the regular I'm sure he is hiding his cards by sitting out Duncan.

Not controversial. Delusional. I love Ray but Curry is of a different world.

Better paint scorer? Really??? I get Curry gets all creative with his layups but LeBron can finish thru any type of contact, unlike Curry. Also passing wise, I've believed for a while, and it's not a very uncommon belief, that LeBron is one of if not the best passers in the league. He averaged the same assists as Curry from a Forward position. And we can argue that LeBron gets the ball whenever he wants, but he doesn't initiate the offense regularly like most point guards do. Just my opinion, but i think Curry's only advantage over LeBron is shooting, which admittedly is a very large advantage.

What seperates Lebron from Curry is defense and rebounding. Lebron can guard all 5 postions very well, and is a more consistant rebounder than Curry.

Steph Curry is absolutely the best player in the NBA right now. The difference between Steph Curry's PER and Lebron's PER is the same as between Lebron and Kenneth Faried. Also, Steph's Estimated Wins Added is 33% higher and he has a true shooting percentage 100 points higher. He is also averaging more assists and fewer turnovers with a nearly identical usage rate, and putting up 45/50/90 while averaging over 30 points. Its not close offensively, and that is not accounting for the impact he has on opposing defenses without touching the ball.

Lebron is arguably the greatest player of all time and definitely top 5, but he his athleticism has slipped and he is not the same player he was 5 years ago, particularly on the defensive end. The advanced metrics actually favor Curry as a defender over Lebron. People's perceptions of his defensive ability are still lagging behid reality.

Silly you - statistics don't work on this board. Only the "eye test."

Agree with all this. Maybe you can make the argument that Lebron is a more rounded player because of his rebounding and defensive flexibility in terms of position. That being said, Curry is so much better on offense that it negates any bonus Lebron gets for being a rounded player when comparing their value this year.

You can go the other side and say what separates Curry from Lebron is that he is just a much better offensive player at this point. More rounded does not necessarily mean better.

If you think "advanced metrics" show Curry to be a better defender than Lebron James then I don't believe you have watched a single NBA game. The Warriors as a unit play incredible team defense and are almost without any weaknesses as a team, this inflates the hell out of Curry's defensive metrics. Meanwhile the Cavs are slumping this year and aren't that cohesive of a unit defensively with guys like Irving and Love who James spends most of his time on the court with. Offensively sure, but there's no way you can tell me Curry is a better defender than James, simply no way.

This is the wrong place to argue against stats...

Swap Curry for LeBron on the Cavs and they are demonstrably worse. Put LeBron on the Warriors and they are different, but even devil's advocates could only argue minor dropoff or they could actually get better via defensive upgrade.

But no question Curry is the MVP last season and this season. And Curry is a better offensive player than LeBron over the past two regular seasons. Remember though Igoudola was finals MVP and LeBron was more valuable in the finals.

FINALS STATS (Curry shot 4.5% better = 1 more make per 22 shots & had more steals, otherwise LeBron)
Player: PTS, FG%, REB, ASSISTS, Steals, TO
Curry: 156, 44.3%, 31, 38, 11, 28
LeBron: 215, 39.8%, 80, 53, 8, 21
