Anyway we fans have been blessed by their existence this last decade and a half.

Time flies..... It feels like just yesterday when Serena won her first Grand Slam on that saturday afternoon back in Sept of 1999....

Great 3rd set win @ 6-1 to win the Championship. Glad Serena didn't have to serve for the win on the side that gave her the most problems. Azarenka handled the win better then Serena did, but Sereana was able to make the better shots. Then of course there is her SERVE.

Serena is the 1st American woman to repeat at the Open since Venus in 2000 and 2001.

Serena is now a five-time Aussie, Wimbledon, and US Open champion. Congrats to her.

Seems unlikely, but if she can eek out two more French Opens, she'd join Steffi as the only players, man or woman, to win every major four times. And three more Frenchies would make her the only player to do it five times. Big-time longshor for her, but it's not totally out of play in historical terms. And yes, she's only one shy of Martina and Chrissy. Graf's 22 are the most of the Open Era, but I think Serena has earned GOAT status at this point.

And Vika is indeed going to win more majors at some point. Her noise is annoying, but she's fantastic.
