OT Current State: Las Vegas

Coincidentally we posted at the same time. Surprised you didn't have a problem with getting an Uber. The smell weed everywhere is much different from my last visit which was 3 years ago. You are right a very different crowd.
I took Uber on Wednesday morning from Wynn to Nugget...and then back in the afternoon....2 minute wait each time. I would guess weekdays during the day aren't a problem. I did ask the driver about a shortage of drivers and he said that if you don't really want to work it's easier to just collect unemployment than to start driving again.

I was in Vegas briefly last month to start a national park road trip. It's pretty much fully open, expect some shows still aren't happening. Crowds weren't too bad.

Currently in Vegas for the weekend.
It’s opened up for sure. still have restrictions in place and some places are closing a little earlier than normal, but the only thing that’s missing currently are the shows and performances.

so, if you’re coming to Vegas for the right reasons, you should have no problem.

Thanks Fich, we plan on spending most of the time at the pool and the blackjack tables as opposed to shows.

Then you'll be just fine and won't have any issues doing anything. +1 to Fich's suggestion about getting to the pool early and/or reserving a spot ahead of time if you can. With no dayclubs open, many folks are using pools as the daytime outdoor drinking/eating activity of choice.

Was there March 3-6. The thing that wasn't normal was playing at the tables. At the Mirage there were three seats per table rather than the normal six. Plexiglass partitions separating the players and separating players from the dealer. Slots on the bottom of the plexiglass for betting. Dealers wearing double masks and with the combo of masks and partitions, it is a joke trying to communicate.

The morning I left, March 6, I put some 'scarole on the Huskies (-9 1/2 vs Georgetown) before heading to the airport. Heading back on May 4 to collect.

I went to Vegas for the opening weekend of March Madness every year for about 10 years straight. IMO, it's one of the best times to go, although I've never been there for the Superbowl. Wake up early, throw in some bets, set up shop somewhere (we used to frequent ESPNZone) and watch games all day. Great time.
This will be in my plans next March if all goes well. A former UConn dormmate has lived out there for years and told me how great it is during March Madness. And if the tournament starts on Thursday which is St. Paddy's day, even better. A good excuse for this lad to drink not that I need one.

I will be there also. A bunch of friends wanted to visit one of our friends who moved to Vegas a couple years ago and we decided on March Madness. Had plane tickets and hotel reservations for last March and all of a sudden everything was going down with the pandemic and we decided to cancel once all the conference tournaments got upended. The NCAA Tournament got canceled shortly after that. So we're now making plans for next March. Can't wait.

That is a good point on table games...the plexiglass dividers are annoying. And table minimums are very high.
