They lost twice to Notre Dame this year, but got their revenge - they owned the second half and won the Big East Tournament. And this is what they consider a down year.

Geno's 800th win was a Big East title...figures. He gets to 800 wins in something ludicrous like 930 games.

Heard Chris Dailey on the radio after the game. She said she hears from everyone "at Cumberland Farms" and elsewhere about how terrible it is the team has lost four games this year. Quite a level of expectation for the program.

I think BCU won one.

But the fact that he is a #1 seed this year is a pretty darn good coaching job. In WBB, he truly can take his'n and beat you'n and take your'n and beat his'n.

Big East championship - 9227
Big 10 championship game - 7220
SEC championship - 12,441
ACC championship - 9122

So the pinnacle game of the season in each conference averages below 10,000 for women's bball. I think you helped prove his point...

Can see it now - ripping off their sports bras in the locker room and having a group hug.

I often wondered where's Geno when sh+t like that happens (not exactly what you said).

Not just Geno but all men coaching women teams. Some even 'innocently' tap them on the butt after hustle plays. No inappropriate scandals reported, so it must be handled professionally, but its got to be a delicate situation.

I'm not sure if it was last night's game or the game before but early in the game Dolson set four picks, one right after the next as she ping-ponged into the lane. After the last pick she rolled to the hoop and Hartley put the ball right into her hands for an easy layup. I was like, I don't see our big men set four good picks in an entire game let alone one play.

The reason ourbig men don't set picks is they do not really know how to play basketball. The need to realize that to be successful you have to do more than dunk and block shots. Even their rebounding is not spectacular because they do not box out. They lack basic fundamentals.

Insert requisite "i think the women could give the men a run for their money" argument here.

Playing the BET in Hartford for WNCAA is just yet more evidence that the women's game should not be taken seriously. Put it on par with allowing that woman to come into the game with a cast on her ankle and get a lay-up.

There are two ridiculous things here:
1. That the other teams have to come play the tournament on UConn's home court. Imagine playing the BET at the Carrier Dome. Would anybody be OK with that?
2. That the other teams bitch about this. Do they not understand how, ultimately, their success depends in substantial part upon UConn? It's called biting the hand that feeds you. And it makes perfectly clear that money is more important than fair play - sure, the other teams are getting a raw deal, but it's much better money to have it in Hartford, so there it is.

Watched 10 minutes of the UConn-somebody game the other day. The other team was about 20ish in the nation. It was painful to watch. Just my opinion. Clearly, about 12,000 people in the Hartford area disagree with that opinion.
