Probably 5/8/77 or 8/13/75 for me. Listened to the Help-Slip-Frank from the latter just yesterday.Could probably do a thread on just best Dead live
5/8 isn't even the best show from that week. And it's insanely good.Probably 5/8/77 or 8/13/75 for me. Listened to the Help-Slip-Frank from the latter just yesterday.

5/7 is no slouch either5/5/77 New Haven is equal to 5/8/77
5/9/77 Buffalo is in my opinion the best show of that run.

The comes a time from 5/9 is sublime
I have and love all the shows from that week, but the Morning Dew and Saint Stephen from Barton Hall are the best of the best imo. The Morning Dew is incredibly powerful and the Saint Stephen has a groove that is a slow burn for me.
In case you are not already aware of this, Roku has an audio only channel "Dead Shows" that streams directly from archive.org. It's a ridiculously simple interface that covers 1965-2018. There are multiples if some shows because it also gives the type of recording, such as "Soundboard," "2nd generation TDK-SA cassette," "Nakamichi deck in tapers section."Could probably do a thread on just best Dead live
No it's not. That would be "without a net"
Live dead is from 69 and is the last word on psychedelia
Both great albums. Very different bands though
Threads like these are helpful toward connecting us when times are tricky & tensions are high. Some of the choices on this thread appall me, but I simply don't care to make anything of others' musical taste. The 5/8 Scarlet/Fire is a favorite of mine and the Dew is phenomenal..
There are a few St. Stephen’s in 77 that I like more.
10-29-77 is my favorite 77 St. Stephen. Try it if you get a chance. The fat man is rockin out..
Yeah but that's not the album he was talking about. No, they released the entire show in a much better mix. It's called "Wake Up to Find Out".
