OT: Best bar in CT

Nothing comes close to the new Bobby V’s in Stamford. Second I would say Hanging Hills.
New Bobby V's? Lived in Stamford 79-86 and emptied many beer bottles in Bobby V's

Edit: I recently saw a Bobby V's somewhere where I thought it shouldn't be? Places I have been to recently: Worcester MA, Myrtle Beach, SC, Roanoke Rapids, NC

haven't been up there, same look? Does it have its own bar?

It has its own bar as well as OTB with windows and screens for horse racing already in place. They’re advocating hard for sports betting. The place was taken over by Sport Tech ventures.

Yeah it moved to Atlantic Street.

The one and only Georgetown Saloon. Great in its day. Haven’t been there in 20+ years. Many entertsiners in the area. Jose Felizeano. (Spelling). Etc.

so it has Bobby's name but has nothing to do with the old one?

Dutch's Tavern in NL where Eugene O'Neill hung out.
It's just "Dutch Tavern," not "Dutch's." Great bar. I love the room. Peter the owner is a great guy, and he makes a very good, basic burger, among other things. Also a proper pour of Guinness, and one of very few bars where you can still play pinball.

It was called The Oak in the pre-prohibition days when Eugene O'Neil hung out there, but it's the same room with the same tin ceiling I believe. Green Street is one of very few blocks in downtown New London that was not burned when Benedict Arnold ordered the raid on New London, so it's cool that those buildings were there then.

Toads Place...Great bands and $1 Gin Gimlets back in the day.
I wish I could give you 1,000 likes for TOADS
Seen so many great shows for decades at Toads, but I really don't like the bar. It still smells like a monkey house like it has for the past 40 years, and I don't think they have cleaned the tap lines since then.

Cafe Nine in New Haven is one of my favorite rooms for live music.

But I find the experience totally underwhelming because the gambling is upstairs while the real beer/food fun is downstairs. To me it really needs to be horse betting at the same table you are eating/drinking at and not the buzz kill to run upstairs.

I started this thread waiting for the Mau response. I have a feeling this list is REAL light.....

I was just in a joint in Hollywood Beach and a guy was talking about David's.

Tuesdays Den and Scruples...teet joints
Also used to hang out at Ollie Pops on the Stratford /Bridgepit line when a couple of wise guys owned it..Gus and “Fat” Franny Curcio.

I’m in Hollywood Beach right now. Anywhere good?
Our go to joint, Nick's is closed for renovation and we were pissed. The place I was at is Le Tub. We split the smoked fish dip and a cheese burger. But we have the most fun at a tap room called LauderALE. It's near the airport and we Uber there. It's taco Tuesday, beer and 2 tacos for 10 bucks. I really like their 11 Barrel IPA. 20% off with a same day boarding pass. And if course, Gulfstream tomorrow.

Hey the Brits had to havesomeplace to celebrate their victory with a few drinks. Never burn the town tavern. Same thing in Essex where the saved the Griswald Inn. Only building they didn’t burn down.

had to

Le Tub is right across the street. I combined this with a work trip. I may hit Marlins opening day Thursday. I hit Dania Beach Jai Alai on Sunday.
