I'm hoping UNC doesn't cancel the 2026-27 series to try and get a higher-profile opponent, need to see us beat Belichick twice, especially at the Rent in his 3rd season

Looks like Bill's main goal is King of UNC and setting his son up as his successor. The Bowl Game will be a great opportunity to drop a big turd in their punch bowl. Great coaches don't forget how to coach but they can end up in a poor fit or age out in terms of connecting with players. It just seems like Bill has a few competing priorities here and he rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

Going off the report that Bill has a "400 page bible" it seems like he's just going to be the figurehead and CEO of the operation and his son (+ other assistants will do most of the recruiting/coaching). I think this could work assuming the necessary money is there for his coaches, NIL, recruiting, etc.
I didn't read it that way in the least. I consider it to be, in essence, Belichick's demands. To take job. Essentially, it is a list of non-negotiables and getting preapproval of how he intends to run the program.

I would be willing to add a $1.5 million bonus clause to Mora's contract for making the CFP championship game. Just saying.

He has a tremendous defensive mind, but really struggled with building an offense towards the end, even when Brady was still there. But this isn’t the NFL - he could be successful I just don’t see it.

With that said, he is not stupid. Have to think he has assembled a ton of NIL fund commitments and that should get him some blue chip transfers.

The point of the article is, UNC wants out of the ACC, and they realize to save basketball and their athletic department they need to pour everything into football. And there's no bigger name to start that process.

This needs to be seen and read by every big east fanboy in our fan base. If UNC is going to treat basketball as secondary, what does that say

The real issue is that what Bill was phenomenal at the rest of the NFL caught up with him... which is to say tracking every one of their players on their training, nutrition, and the rest. The end of the run was Bill and Brady fumes and players coming on reputation

Look at the records for belichek w non Brady qbs and return to the comment about bill not being any good
Didn't say he was not any good. Brady went and won one with Bruce Arians who went promptly out of the league. Bill never won the Big one without Tom. Those are what you call indisputable facts.

Belechick took the Browns to the playoffs and won a game. Something they hadn't been able to do for what, 30 years after thet fired him. He lost the the goodwill of the city, not for losing, but for benching a washed up Bernie Kosar.

I hope this experiment is successful just to see Gregg Doyel seethe.

But imagine being Mack Brown, the most winning coach in UNC history and a NC Championship winner, being tossed out like old bread, in favor of washed up old cheater that nobody in the NFL wanted anymore.

That must be something.

This is the next step for NC entry into SEC or B1G. FB must take priority over everything else. Must prove that to the 2 big boys for the invite.

UNC is having a top-down wake-up call on football, NIL, the whole pro deal. They love basketball, excellence across the AD, including ALL women’s sports (and the national championships they win yearly). Academic profile to me says B10, but I think it will eventually be SEC for travel, continuity and basketball. They will be in the driver’s seat when the ACC deal approaches its end by leveling up just a bit in football. Belichick is just part of that.
