Any program or team that'll hire a soon to be 73 year coach needs their heads examined. I don't care how great his past was. It's even worse for him to take a college job that is a multi-year process.

One positive of being on a college campus, he could meet his next girlfriend.
Did you meet their previous coach? I believe Mack Brown was at least 73.

Bill B. would only fit at 2 schools. Army -Navy. Maybe Air Force.
Why do you say that? Do you think he's some authoritarian that demands military discipline to succeed? I think he's the opposite.

I just cannot imagine him going into a recruit's home and begging them to commit.
He wouldn’t. Coach Prime never does. Kids come to Colorado (and would to UNC) to be coached by a legend. You think Coach Prime gets on planes to visit recruits—or suffers through gab sessions schmoozing with donors? Nope!
The NILand Portal would be like roster building and free agency.
it’s a no brainer hire for UNC. I say it happens.

Prime doesn’t recruit? I don’t believe that. I recall him talking about turning on the charm when visiting parents/donors who know him from 30 yes ago

Don't care as long as it's not before the Fenway bowl

I think Prime has it a little easier to recruit because he's high profile, but he does recruit and he definitely has the gift of gab. Kids love his style.

With the portal it’s Free Agency. And one would think UNC has resources. I think NFL types would be more comfortable in this space than ever before.
That's a good point. After hearing him speak on Pat McAfee show yesterday, it sounds like it very well could happen. One would assume UNC would pony up the necessary resources for NIL coaching salaries etc, but I sitll feel like kids would either be lining up to play for him or the opposite. It will be interesting to see if it happens, which seems likely at this point?

He does not recruit as most would define it. He never flies to meet them in their homes. He invites those he's interested in to Colorado. He hasn't made a recruiting "trip" since he's been there. Nor has he met with donors in a schmooze session. That's what Belichick has seen and he's going to take from Prime's playbook on those subjects.

I will say, being a HC in CFB is requiring you to basically be a GM. Belicheck was basically both roles in New England so he could very easily excel with this. I'm not sure how recruits would relate to him but he could definitely run a program well and be successful on that front.

That would actually put a ton of spotlight on UConn. How much of a difference can a new staff make in such little time? They’ll still be learning players names in the bowl game and adjusting to college coaching, honestly it might give us an advantage.

Bill Belichick’s return to coaching… how awesome would it be for UConn to win that game!? Either way, a ton of people will watch UConn play and you know Bill will say lots of nice things about Coach Mora and our team.

No way he would coach (I wouldn’t). Use the game to make a splash, be at the game, scout your team, don’t take the L.

Going off the report that Bill has a "400 page bible" it seems like he's just going to be the figurehead and CEO of the operation and his son (+ other assistants will do most of the recruiting/coaching). I think this could work assuming the necessary money is there for his coaches, NIL, recruiting, etc.

With the portal, Bill B. could be a home run hire. What NFL draftable junior or senior wouldn't give up some NIL/revenue sharing to get coached up by Bill B.?
