OT 2026 NFL playoffs

We are a pulled oblique away from a potential Drew Lock vs Jared Stidham super bowl

So here's a question for the gamblers on this forum. These were all preseason bets.

My $5 bet that the Pats would reach the AFC Championship game paid $95
My $10 bet that they will win the Super Bowl pays $760 but I can cash it out now for $190
My $10 bet that they Patriots will lose in the AFC championship game pays $210. Can't cash out.

Seems the smart play is to let the Super Bowl bet ride for now. I get the $210 if they lose this week. If they win, the cash out number will go up significantly (I assume) even though they'd be underdogs against either NFC team.

Stroud is awful let’s be honest. Since his rookie year, which looks to be a fluke, he’s proven to be ok at best. Then add no Collins or Schultz he was screwed and so was their great defense. No Nix next week, I mean the red carpet was thrown out for the Pats but they’re good. 2 weeks in a row great game plans defensively to make both QBs uncomfortable. Don’t like Vrabel but he’s a helluva coach, they have a shot.
Stroud had that terrible pick 6 INT where he just threw the ball up for grabs. Another one was high and could be in the category of receiver contribute interception. And two were behind his receivers. The bad weather contributed to some of those INTs. Drake didn’t have great day either but Stroud probably cost himself a lot of money with that performance.

In my opinion, you didn’t put up much money and stand to make a huge payout if they win the Super Bowl. They’re your favorite team. No fun in a cash out for a couple hundred bucks. That’s a week of groceries. Enjoy the run.

If they make the Super Bowl hedge your bet to cover what you put up initially and it’s a no lose.

Bill fire McDermott. Interesting move.

On one hand, you’re what? 7-8 years into Josh Allen and haven’t made a Super Bowl with the best qb in the league.

On the other hand, there have been 10 coaches fired Harbaugh is already resigned and Tomlin isn’t coaching next year. Who are you replacing him with? Mike McCarthy? Mike McDaniel?

They better have a pretty solid plan in place because Josh Allen cannot absorb the hits and not get hurt at some point and his prime is half over.

That is why I wasn't sure they'd dump him. There's no clear upgrade I can see. Chris Shula is definitely going to be on some teams' list, the Dolphins should absolutely go there. But the retreads all suck. McDaniels is much worse than McDermott. McCarthy stinks.

Stefanski is off the board. Flores is probably the top guy with HC experience left. The Bills could just promote their own guy Joe Brady.

Yeah, it's all house money obviously. I hit on both the UConn championships at pre-season odds. So everything in my accounts is house money to begin with. Sadly the odds on UConn sucked this year so if they pull it off it doesn't pay much.

Not only is Bo Nix out for the broncos, but I would also expect their receivers Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin to be out. Also, the broncos center left the Bills game injured.

Broncos went from one of the healthiest teams in the playoffs to complete disaster in just 4 quarters plus OT.

The defense is healthy at least, but I don’t know they will score unless Stidham channels his inner Nick Foles.

As a broncos fan, I have very low expectations for Sunday’s game.

Brutal for Seattle. Fortunately they have Walker, he'll just need a lot of snaps.

Rams move on to get clobbered in Seattle. Hell of a comeback by the Bears. Great foundation there with Williams and Johnson.

It's looking like the Patriots may be Super Bowl champs without ever even having to play anyone.

I'm used to Ben Johnson always going for it on 4th down instead of taking the points but his playcalling last night was ridiculously bad and worse than I've seen it all season.

Really good first season for him but I would not at all be surprised if he's Matt Nagy 2.0

This was ruled a touchdown but by the time he made a football play or held onto the possession, he was out of bounds

Looks like Josh Allen’s poor performance contributed to firing of Sean McDermott which was just announced.
Josh Allen’s poor performance is only because his team is poor. I think the GM should have been fired they gave him nothing to work with of any impact on offense. They were only there because of Josh period, they guys the best in football.

I got a text from my son this morning letting me know McDermott got fired. I responded "they should have fired the GM that put together a team that expects the QB to do everything". He responded "they promoted him". My response was "brilliant move".

Buffalo was horrible for a decade and a half before McDermott got there, they've been a playoff team almost every year since, starting before Allen arrived. If they're going to say it's time to move on from him, they should also move on from the GM.

They just played two very good teams and will face another this weekend. The Patriots beating them doesn’t make them bad. Everyone picked Houston. Now Houston was bad? Sure Jan. All three have among the best 5 defenses in the NFL, as do the Seahawks. Rams defense is playing well now too.

Chargers players said they had no idea what New England was doing on defense. Everything was so well disguised and constantly changing. It was obvious that Houston and Stroud couldn’t figure it out either. Credit where due. They have a healthy defense for the first time in months.

I saw a reel that listed the WRs Allen has had the last 3 seasons. It was not impressive. And Keon Coleman was a bust of a pick.
Worst WR room in the division by far. Shakir is ok as a slot guy but without Kincaid they have almost nothing. Can’t believe they drafted Coleman, he had bust all over him. Big slow contested catch guys don’t beat NFL defenses. The defense isn’t what it was either. Terrible drafting.

The one thing I heard about Coleman was he had 4 routes in his route tree. Relies on size and mismatch. That has shown through a thousand times over. Every catch is some jump ball type that happens maybe once a game.

I’m not sure about very good teams, solid maybe but neither were anything to concern yourself with. Stroud hasn’t been any good since his rookie year and Herbert had no line to help him at all. Having said that the coaching staff for NE did a great job finding ways to make sure both QBs never got comfortable. Vrabel is very good, he and Maye are huge. No Nix next game is another gift you have to admit, but the facts are you still have to win the games and the Pats are a really good team there’s no denying that. And timing is a wonderful thing.

There are no great teams. Buffalo wasn't better than Houston. Nor are the no defense 49ers. Bears are not as good as Houston and about on par with Chargers. There are three teams with significant PF/PA +/- (over +170) in the NFL. Seattle, LA Rams and New England. Denver was +90. The Jags were actually 4th best at +138, Houston +109. Eagles were +54 despite playing in a terrible division. The whole NFC south was negative. Denver played the second easiest schedule to New England's.

What a Woody Johnson thing to say.
I get why he did it, the fans and media are all complaining that they promoted the GM that has been responsible for many bad drafts, including prominently, the miss on Coleman, while firing McDermott. So the owner is saying that McDermott drove those bad draft decisions, but calling out a player on your current roster as a bust is really next level stupid.

Booger McFarland talked about how uncomfortable this makes it for Keon to continue playing for the Bills. It also calls into question the leadership pointing fingers.

The Bills circus continues to wind down a weird road. They're interviewing Philip Rivers for their head coaching position.

Why on god's green earth would you give the job to a guy who's never coached a day in his life? You have prime Josh Allen drying up on the vine and the fact you're even thinking about this as an option would scare the heck out of me if I'm a Bills fan.

I agree that it sounds bizarre to interview a guy who only coached at HS level. Perhaps it’s only to get his opinion on improving the offense. It’s also bizarre to interview McDaniel after he took Charger’s OC job.

It has to be Daboll at this point…doesn’t it?

You'd think so. So why are there stories like this coming out?

You were right about the Jets keeping Glenn. We can't even get an interview with a DC right now, if we were in the search for a head coach, we'd get the 9th or 10th best option out there.

Personally, this is my favorite day of NFL Football.

My rooting interests align with my older sister-in-law (Broncos) and her husband (Seahawks). Both from Montana.

Seems like it's gonna be Wink Martindale. Which I am ok with but it will be interesting to see how his personality fits with Glenn.

I count this as the last week of real football. Home field, the conditions and real football fans at the game.

The superbowl has become way too commercialized for my own liking and I'll still watch it but when it's catered to celebrities and non sports people it's not the same IMO.
