My buddy thinks real estate on the Gary, Indiana beach is going to be gold in a few years.
For sheer entertainment value, Lebrun playing ping pong > LeBron playing hoops.
I was at several Canadian beaches this week lol.Makes you want to vacation at one of those many luxurious Canadian beach resorts, don't it?
Do we need more proof about global warming than Canada being in a beach volleyball final?
What’s pathetic is the lack of coaching on how to do it correctly. They all (most, I saw 1 good pass in their 2 runs) acted like they didn’t know which hand to use, or when to start. The biggest chokers in sports, the US men's 4×100 relay team. It will be 24 years now without a medal for them and 28 years without gold. These guys can't ever hand off the baton, it's really pathetic.
Men's 4x100. That was a brutal interview they just showed. He asked the lead-off runner Coleman 3 times about the handoff, and each time Coleman said they didn't get it done. One question, he specifically asked, did Bednarek leave too early? Give credit to Coleman for not answering. I can't believe he would ask a question like that immediately after the race.
I stand corrected on my breakdancing comment
Agree. Totally classless interview.I saw, too. I watched the 4x100 live earlier at 2:30 PM EST or whatever was and then I saw the replay as I was just flipping through the channels. Then when Mike Tirico said here is Lewis with interview and I thought in my head "they are interviewing the Canadians who won gold. I know they are not going to interview the USA team". And then when I saw the 4 Americans in front of Lewis I thought "this is going to be awkward, what the hell is he going ask them?".
I cringed even more during that interview and it's like Lewis was baiting Coleman to point a finger and create a viral moment. WTF?!
Maybe, Lewis was simply repeating the question that someone told him through his earpiece to ask, I know that happens sometimes during the interview.
I give credit to Coleman, just like you did, for not taking the bait, and even all 4 Americans for doing that interview. I would have told Lewis to f--- off.
Ha, no they're terrible. There's legitimate natural beauty out here, you just have to drive for it. It's not like LA or New EnglandAre the Indiana Dunes a real thing?
Anna Hall Pass won the final event of the Heptathlon, the 800 meters, to hold her 5th position. I'm not sure if it would have changed things but I saw she would have had her best javelin throw ever, but after she released the javelin she hopped forward just watching the throw and stepped onto the line for a fault. Wasn't even part of the throw, big mistake. She's from Colorado and went to Georgia and Florida.
Yeah but those are like the Marita Koch East German type records. We know nobody will touch them but we also know they're not real. It's like Bonds 73 homers. The Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps stuff is awesome because overwhelmingly the public thinks it's real.FloJo's records in the 100 & 200 have stood for nearly 40 years. So it may have already happened with the women.
Only two women have multiple world championships in the 100m. Marion Jones with 2 (and was later stripped of medals after a positive test and an admission of guilt) and Shelley-Ann Fraser-Pryce who has won 5 (not twice as much as any non-cheater, 5 times as much).Flojo was as dirty as the East Germans and Russians. Women’s records in the 1,2,4 (and probably 800) are all dirty. Jamaicans should have the 1 and 2.

I don't know if it belongs in the Olympics, but I just watched the final. Another of those competitions where judges are everything. I thought the Lithuanian kid won on degree of difficulty, but judges went with Japan. I haven't watched breaking since maybe the 90s, but gotta say, both were very impressive performances. Is that for real? It reminds me of the SNL spoof of synchronized swimming many years ago. I tried watching breaking but quickly lost interest
Fraser Pryce, Thompson Herah, and Jackson didn’t suddenly transform their physiques and develop a husky voice. Modern testing is not like in the 80s.Only two women have multiple world championships in the 100m. I bet you think half of China accidently ingested multiple different performance-enhancing drugs eating contaminated food before heading to the pool to cool off, too.
This… the tracks are a million times faster than cinder. Same thing with pool designs, and why Paris was slow.Fraser Pryce, Thompson Herah, and Jackson didn’t suddenly transform their physiques and develop a husky voice. Modern testing is not like in the 80s.
Also - the tracks and the shoes today are faster. I suspect that Carl Lewis and Bob Hayes would have been running somewhere in the 9.68-9.75 range if competing today
Fraser Pryce has some kind of shoe advantage over her competitors? That is how she alone can repeat as world champion and then win again and again and again? And win at ages in which the "juiced athletes of the 80s" had long sense retired because they were unable to compete any longer?Fraser Pryce, Thompson Herah, and Jackson didn’t suddenly transform their physiques and develop a husky voice. I would like to see how consistent you are with this. Clearly Lebron and Michael Phelps have been on the juice forever, right?Fraser Pryce has some kind of shoe advantage over her competitors? In a world of horses and zebras, she is a unicorn. You are more than welcome to believe she is a natural-born unicorn.

She got a silver. Meanwhile their hoops team was watching on TV. Even their 3x3 hoops got bronze.breakdancing is hilarious, you got Lithuanian girls wearing durags, I wonder if she has any idea what those are worn for
No, I’m saying the times run now by the best are helped by shoes and faster and faster tracks.Fraser Pryce has some kind of shoe advantage over her competitors?
