Fraser Pryce has some kind of shoe advantage over her competitors? That is how she alone can repeat as world champion and then win again and again and again? And win at ages in which the "juiced athletes of the 80s" had long sense retired because they were unable to compete any longer?

In a world of horses and zebras, she is a unicorn. You are more than welcome to believe she is a natural-born unicorn.
No, I’m saying the times run now by the best are helped by shoes and faster and faster tracks.
I think she’s clean due to the regularity of testing - and this testing is very sensitive. There are cases in which the beef someone eats gets tested to see if they were guilty of doping or guilty of eating a piece of meat that had been given hormones.

There are occasional unicorns in athletics. If Bolt wanted to continue, he would have had an insane number of titles.

Keep an eye on Tebogo - I will say now that he could win 3 straight 200m Olympics titles.

I was cheering for Ireland to medal but they faded down the stretch.

Seems to be great respect for the women from the men as they both won gold.

I would like to see how consistent you are with this. Clearly Lebron and Michael Phelps have been on the juice forever, right?
Everything individual record Phelps had has already been broken. The one hold on record in the 400IM went down last year at the world championships. And Phelps swam with now outlawed suit technology.

The reason the US swim team is so mouthy about China (and Russia in the past) is they are clean and USADA is a pain in their ass.

I would suspect that LeBron -- a player who relied on physicality -- is using some performance enhancers to keep going at his advanced age. But that doesn't count for anything, I can't stand the man.

If you want an American that I like, I would be surprised if Matteo Jorgenson didn't have some kind of chemical advantage boosting his performances this season.

Only two track events that the US men didn't medal: the 800m where Hoppel came in the 4th and the DQ'd 4X100m mopes.

And Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce doesn't hold any world records.

She's just better than everyone, the same way Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps were better than everyone.

Because of the postponed Olympics we are in a time in which global championships have been occurring every year. One of the benefits is being able to watch Tebogo come along at this major events.

Erriyon Knighton -- a year younger -- got the better of Tebogo in 2023. I think the positive test knocked Knighton off his game and we never got to see the best of him this season. And Noah isn't exactly ancient, Christian Miller the current "next big thing" will be older than Tebogo is now by LA.

And that is just Americans. Jamaica has a next generation, too.

So Tebogo is going to have his work cut out for him.

Interesting. Jorgenson's teammate Sep Kuss just won the Vuelta a Burgos and we know how good Vengegaard is.

I am trying to avoid Bolt -- because it is believable he is a unicorn. That doesn't mean I would be shocked to found out otherwise. Phelps appeared a unicorn and his records did not last long, Bolt's records are looking like they are going to outlast FloJo's.

If you wiped FloJo's obviously tainted record off the books, do you know who would have the record? Elaine Thompson-Herah, from Jamaica and I believe the same group as Fraser-Pryce trains with.

It honestly is hard to tell where "better training and nutrition" methods start (Visma is a top squad) and "better training and wink nutrition wink" becomes a factor.

The Sky (now Ineos) cycling team would bring in guys that suddenly got much, much better and fit right in. It is now generally accepted they were not in compliance with what you and I would consider fair. Visma-Lease a Bike seems to have a similar pattern, so I am suspicious of Matteo suddenly being one of the top cyclists.

Still, Matteo had shown some progress and potential over the years and was neglected at a team that promotes Spanish riders first, so it could be legit. I would feel better if he had a little help from his teammates during his top moments this year, but they have been largely useless. Apparently, they don't like helping Americans and only stop neglecting their duties if it becomes a scandal (Sepp in the Vuelta last year).

Again, I have no idea what you're going for here. Shelly-Ann Fraser, Bolt, Phelps, Ledecky, Biles are better than everyone. So was Jordan, so was Lebron. If you want to keep it track and field so is Sydney McLaughlin, Mondo DuPlantis, Ryan Crouser etc.

They all most be steroid fiends because of all their world records. Shelly-Ann needs to start doping to get some world records.

I hope Tebogo decides to move from 1/2 to 2/4. I think those records are possible for him - especially the 4. His 300 earlier this year was insane, and he gave Rai all he could handle in that relay! - to me, his physique is perfect for the 4 - powerful enough, but very strong and lacking any unnecessary weight.
(not sure if you caught it, but I enjoyed Tebogo’s response to a reporter when asked if he will be the new face of track and field. He responded something like - no. I’m not talkative and arrogant, so no, I will not be the face).

They should probably give out 3 bronze medals, they messed this up so badly. The 2 Romanians were tied for 3rd and Chiles was in 5th. One of the Romanians was celebrating her bronze when they posted the scores, as all winners do in gymnastics. Then they changed the scores to put Chiles in 3rd and the Romanian was devastated. One Romanian received a deduction for going out of bounds but she didn't go out. The other seemed to receive a lower score than the whole crowd expected her to receive. It was a cluster f and there's really no fair way to resolve it with one bronze medal.

Agrees, they both should get a bronze.

And I believe that everyone before and including Hoppel ran their personal best. No shame there. 4-x100 is another story altogether.

USA Fisher had an outright amazing finish in the 5,000 to get bronze. Norway Ingebrigtsen was a beast to win gold. Fisher was seemingly dropped sitting in 7th place when Ingebrigtsen turned on the jets with 200m to go. Fischer came from 7th to pass on the outside down the homestretch.

Fisher won the bronze in both the 5,000 and 10,000
