The only sport I have beef with the amount of medal is swimming. There are 35 events. It's ridiculous.

There's 35 events in the Olympics for swimming, there's 8 events in the Olympics for diving.

2/3 of the world is water so swimming is underrepresented
Olympics should go retro: Only sports requiring speed or strength. Oh, and it should be in the nude.
All other sports should have their own world championships.

It is still weird though, freestyle is fastest yet we need breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and medley events.
They do have race walking, but would have to add skipping and I suppose either hopping or backwards running to match swimming's 4 disciplines.
I guess swimmers could beef with the hurdles, could be fun though if they put hurdles to swim/jump over or under in the pools.
