Not a bad list. I was never an Ames fan (Caldor was much more local for us), and never got the Krispy Kreme memo either, but agree with pretty much everything else there.

You can still get Krispy Kreme; you just need to go to Mohegan.

I'd add Scooter's on Farmington Ave in Bristol. Place was the BOMB as a kid. They had laser tag, arcades, mini golf, etc.

1-95 in Fairfield County has been a parking lot for decades

Sikorsky never really had much in the way of real flights; Tweed still does.

You can find jazz shows on WNHU and WPKN, among others; but non-satellite radio is pretty much dead everywhere, except for the Top 40/Pop stations. Sirius is fantastic, however, including a great jazz station.

New Haven still has concerts on the Green every summer. I just saw a great one with Lucinda Williams a couple weeks ago. I believe WAR and Tony, Toni, Ton'e are there later this month.

The Big East
2009 UConn championship (damn you dyson knee injury)
2013 UConn championship (due to the double secret probation by the NCAA)
2012 UConn Championship (Bazz, Boat, Lamb, Daniels, Drummond, Giffey, Oriakhi, Smith....team was loaded)

I sorely miss Krispy Kreme. Their doughnuts at Mohegan Sun taste off somehow. I miss both Ames and Caldor, I'm not a huge Wal Mart guy. I also miss the old New London Mall. They really knew how to present an Orange Julius.

Is Jai-Alai on the list. Man I miss Jai-Alai.

As incomprehensible as it is to me, the dog track that replaced the jai alai in Bridgeport is still in operation.
