Opening Week (Non-UConn) Game Thread

Coppin state is down 1 to DePaul close to the end of the first half. DePaul stinks but it is very clear Coppin state is light years better than CCSU so at least a better test Saturday.

Light years better than CCSU?? Coppin State is AT BEST evenly bad. They just lost to Loyola Chicago by 58. Current Kenpoms: Coppin: 351, CCSU: 348.

Then DePaul really is god awful. Also, kenpom means nothing this early in the year. But yes, I didn’t see that they lost by 58 lol

Yeah that WCC this year really has a bunch of HS type teams. I mean if UConn could only get an easy road game @ BYU or @USF. Every team in the country needs a cupcake game like that!
 
My new DraftKings trick:

Pick one game to bet on and then parlay that with some gimme Moneylines.

For example, last night I bet +15.5 Buffalo v Michigan (-115) and then bet the ML on Wake over William and Mary and UCF over Robert Morris, two bets that bumped me up to a +117 parlay.

Tonight, I got +19 GW v Maryland -110 (go Brendan Adams), and then added South Dakota (-450) and Evansville (-675) to bump it to +167.

We'll see how that goes. @temery, could you confirm whether or not I am even allowed to post this? If not, please delete and won't post like this again.

It's a gray area. I've never received any complaints, so have at it.
 
Very good mid-major matchup tonight at 6 PM on ESPN+ between Vermont @ Northern Iowa. If you haven't seen AJ Green play, he's a treat.

UNI lost their opening game to Nicholls State on Tuesday, 62-58. Green only had 4 points on 1-14 shooting. I still think he’s great and will have a great season. But an inauspicious beginning, as Clyde would say.

E: also, love the betting tip. I do the same thing with my NFL parlays, where I’ll pick the 2-3 games I really like then just add like a Rams and Cards ML to juice it a bit
 
BA and GW vs Wahab and Maryland on now if you get the B10 Network. Good game.
 
Currently watching GW vs Maryland. One observation: The turnout at Maryland is absolutely horrible. There’s no one there. Yeah I know they’re playing an average team but the place literally looks empty from the angles i’ve seen on TV.

They have not looked sharp at all through 2 games. And this is against teams that they should be beating handily. They do have a few new pieces so part of it could just be they are trying to figure out, but things could get ugly for them against better competition. Still early so we’ll see how it ends up.

It's very possible that the first Big East team to lose will be Villanova. Whodathunkit?

Then again, if you ask @shizzle787 , UCLA is a cupcake and 'Nova will win by 45.

I am a looong time poster here. So long that I actually donate to thank Tom for putting up with me. It’s certainly not healthy, but one of the annual rites I look forward to is UConn destroying one of the very worst teams in the entire country and then having some posters judging all other teams off that result. Thanks for this. Let’s me know I’m still alive. You are moving up in competition next game though and this phenomenon will end. Oh, wait…
